I get 160 hours at the beginning of the year, and I have to take all of it every year....:ugh2:


We used to let people roll over vacation time, but when I got to 240 hours, the folks in charge got a little stressed. So now it's 'use it or lose it'... :icon14:




Consequently, I'm off from Dec 21st to the end of the year... :tup:

My normal schedule is Mon-Wed and every other Thursday, normally during the year that is great plenty of days off, so I just cash out the max amount and save the rest for the end of the year. Usually I take my whole Bday week off just because I can. :tup:

I took of the whole month of Dec last year to burn my time. We can only transfer 80 hours yearly. i've got 120 currently so I need to burn 40 hours or else I lose it. Issue is that me being the only I.T. guy here sorta limits my time off availabilitiy. They'll either have to cash my vacay in, roll it over, or force me to take time off (which is what i want).

That's what I do also, only challenge is that with an October birthday, it doesn't leave much time to use the rest. :confused:


Next year might be a little different. I'm moving in March, so there's a week there, then a Marine reunion in June, birthday in October, so that's 3 weeks accounted for. I need to schedule a trip to Austin to see JAR and bring the RJM adjustable pedal along, and maybe get a chance to meet the other forum members that call Austin home. I need a personal assistant..... :rolleyes:

I'm taking off here and dere this holiday but not the chunks I use to take at my old work.

Lots of stuff going on. I get to cash in my vac time though which means earn$pend :rock:

Wat to do with couple of grandz let over? :p

I think I'm going to get me some car bits and RC bits..

An lots of junk food. :p

Maybe skip the junk food and get some nice sushi. :p

And save the rest for a snowy crappy day. :mad:
