I have some cast iron pots I will use occasionally. Usually set them on that metal grate. I generally prefer really hot coals to cook over vs. logs. :tup:

When we were children a one pound chunk of salted pork on a metal rod worked well over a fire pit :tup:

We would capture the pork dripping's with sliced French bread :yum:

The Hungarian economy snack :tup:
