Fortinet up and running :D

Weird thing happened though ... the reset button appears to be broken :icon14: I had to dig up an old encrypted login/pass word doc and then find the key to open it :shakes head:

Once, I got in the web interface, I just used the CLI to reset the whole thing to default and start from scratch

Grandparents are checking on the availability of their timeshare in Tuscany for us next March/April. Wife found $375 airfare = $1500 round trip for both of us

I figured out the missing flavor from the cheese steaks. Gf agrees that while my first set was amazing by its own, the new set is on a whole different level.

I ran back to the store and got another sirloin. Carmelized more onions, but added a tbsp of sugar to them. This helped add way more sweetness. Swapped the green bell pepper for some seeded long hots. Gives the steak a good kick that mellows out from the onions.

For the steak, I sauted it like before, but added mayo to increase the fat content. Gives it a richer flavor. The bread used garlic butter. Combined it all and it gave a pleasant hot kick that mellowed out from the sweetened onions and had a rich taste throughout it from the steak.

I'm pleased with myself. Now time for bed. My culinary skills can go back into dormancy now so I can enjoy more taco hell.

Oh and I should mention ... yesterday was the first day in August since the 1800s where it did not reach 80 degrees in Austin. I think we hit 76 for the high :)

Crazy global warming

The only age old record we came close to this summer was number of days of rain in July :(

And August hasn't been much better.

We are usually dry as a bone and everything brown by mid-July. Instead I get to wash the car and cut grass 3-4 times a week instead. I'll take some actual global warming please
