Stupid patient care. :icon17: I need to be on hand in case I need to press the armageddon button or swap out a patient phone cause someone dropped it in the toilet or other disgusting bodily fluid.

IT. We actually treat TV and patient phones as a rush job, it is included in our patient care evaluations. If it breaks down, we will have a replacement or fix it within an hour. We figure there isnt **** else to do when laying in a hospital bed, we can at least give you movies and tv :icon17:

Hell, I can't even get a sink unclogged in my daughters room at 3am lol

And even though the children's hospital is only something like 8-10 years old all the rooms have 24" CRT's :rofl2:

Actually maybe they are smaller than that! I don't really watch tv anyhow, but it's still funny seeing something so old school in an otherwise state of the art facility.

When I visited my father at the other "big" hospital in town, it was the same way. 20" CRT tvs on gigantic corner mounts :icon17: Our place frequently wins or is near the top for the "most Wired hospital" award.

Bout the same here. These CRT's have monster slide out, articulating mouth that come out of a wall unit. My only guess is they got the CRT's for free. I know a buddy that had a whole pile given to his store at Habitat for Humanity couldn't give them away.

The free wi-if at the hospital sucks balls too. If you can connect in the first place, don't dare let your computer/phone/whatever go to sleep or you'll never get back on. I quit trying years ago.. even in the rooms that actually have the router mounted to the ceiling directly above you!

What baffles me is that here we are in the 21st Century, hell, we are almost 20 years in, and hospitals STILL have CRT TVs....... WTF? :rofl2:

Then again, the device I install uses a full size iMac..... :wtf2:

We have 47-49" flat screens as standard through out the hospital. Surgeons lounge get the best topping out at 65" in the break room. I have a 47" in the office, cause you know, I have to make sure the movies and tv channels are working properly :rofl2:

We use to route everyone to a splash page about accepting our terms and click here to join the wifi... so much stupid in the public we just got rid of that and use websense to block them from doing stupid stuff on our wifi. Our speed tests put our Guest wireless at about 15-18 D/L. not terrible.
