Do you have a leather satchel and a vegi smoothie to go with it?

Not leather. a bicycle messenger satchel! No smoothie. Just a coffee mug with a unicorn sharting a rainbow on it.

My first car was a 1949 Chrysler Windsor that I paid $50 for. Dad & I towed it home because the kid that owned it couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start. It had the wrong distributor cap on it, and the tang on the float was keeping gas out of the carb. Fixed both, and the car ran great. ;)

Idk what any of that means.

Step 1: Have Kernchan fix it
Step 2: Done

I'll just remain clueless. More fun snapping bolts that way. Everything I learned was from youtube videos and forums. 5 years and I can change my own oil and detail fairly well. Ask me to bleed the brakes or swap other fluids and I will start to hyperventilate.

At least you have the benefit of YouTube and the forums. When I was learning, I learned the hard way, replacing wrong parts, breaking the right ones putting them on and having to buy replacements.

That's what scares me. I'm to clueless to know where the part is even suppose to go. I'm still learning how my clutches work hahaha. :ugh2:

So i shouldn't feel bad spending 2 hrs putting my clutch helper spring in........

Ghostvette 04-27-2016 09:38 AM

That 49 Chrysler popped a head gasket while I had it, that was an adventure. I had to go to the library to find a Motors manual that showed how to do it, paid .10 a copy to copy the pages I needed, then find a head gasket. I called several places and finally a place called Midnight Auto (a legit parts store) had one for $12. That damn flat head took both my sister and I to lift it out of the car and put it back without sliding it over the new gasket. Last I checked, the car was still running. My grandfather bought it from me for $300 when I went to boot camp, then his widow sold it to a banker just down the road for about $3000....

I need to find out where a headgasket in the engine is now. If i ever own a Subbie like Kernchan, I guess they break frequently.

Its right above the oil pan. If your coolant is milky and the exhaust smells like coolant you should probably change it. ;)
