I am going to be so lazy this weekend. :excited:

I am taking the Z out to the post office to ship the shift knob for Lein, then putting a few miles on the girl. Afterwards I am parking my large rear end in my lazyboy

I got my first noticeable chunk taken out of my paint from neighboring idiots just a few months ago. I thought about getting some aftermarket fenders to fix it, but that just means I might as well get a new front bumper (still happy with OEM) and an aftermarket hood with vents to fix all the rock chips :icon17:

Damn man, that sucks. Repairable through detailing or is it too deep?

Thank you for your condolences. I have accepted the damage as a fact of life. I'll fix it when the car is no longer my DD.

It's like some truck door was opened over my fender and then the taffyapple weight in the car pressed the door down onto the fender. The wiggle pattern of the scratch is evidence of the struggle I'm sure they had getting their taffyapple rear end into a seat up off the ground.

This is why we can't have nice things :shakes head:

JARblue 03-18-2016 07:35 AM

It is raining here. I drove to work with the windows down. Just have to drive fast ;)

The fact that i joined this forum a year ago and now use the term taffyapple in everyday occurrences speaks volumes of the influence you guys have had on me in such a short amount of time.

I will try with some #1 griots polish but I think its too deep. I will post up a pic when I take a break soon. :shakes head:

Ultimately I want to do a full bumper paint correction.

I'd pull a JAR and just get a new bumper. Still really sucks to hear MB.

Here is the damage. I felt it again and I don't think it's going to buff out.

njobe89 03-18-2016 08:43 AM

doesn't look like it will buff out... looks like a deep scratch and not only surface

Leingod 03-18-2016 08:45 AM

On a side note, a lot of you guys make me feel better about owning a touring and not a sport. I use to look at the sport as the superior car. But base/touring models seem to be just as dominant also.

The sport is the superior model. The brake and wheel upgrade alone is worth it, and SRM is really cool for MT. Performance > features IMO

But the touring model has a lot of stuff that would be nice for daily driving. And you can find cheap sport wheels on the forum, and caliper upgrades aren't too bad either - best of both worlds

:iagree: i bought the base sport 6MT because i wanted the cloth seats and basically a real basic sports car. i had the budget to get a nismo but didn't (too heavy and data showed base-sport being a better performer too). actually i had the budget to get a GT-R if it came in MT.
