The wife & I have been experimenting with homemade pizza - or as homemade as we can get it. We make the sauce, shred all the cheese (pre-shredded cheese from the store has cellulose and other crap in it to keep it from clumping up) and we use fresh herbs and so on.

The only thing we were cutting corners on is, we have been using a pre-made dough from Whole Foods for the crust - which is pretty good but we wanted to see if we could make one ourselves.

So yesterday afternoon we made our own dough and let it rise for a bit, then we baked it - but not with sauce or cheese on it. Just as a side, with some homemade tomato soup. We figured that way if it was awful we could just toss it. :icon17:

It came out really good, so next time we make pizza we're going to use our scratch-made dough. :yum:

Sounds good :yum:

Makig pizza is fun as a family activity. My mini likes to help me. We may do this next time. Also-a local very popular pizza place uses a ton of dried type mozzarella in their sauce. Like a LOT. You should try that sometime too. See if you like. They also have chicken pizza. Shredded. I dont know if I have ever seen that anywhere else. But its very good.

We cook something together every Saturday. We always have fun with it! :)

Great that you can enjoy that with the kids, too!

Speaking of pizza... I've been eating pizza here in Italy for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the past 3 days. The pizza here tastes a lot different from American pizza.

:yum: Make sure you get a real margherita pizza ... not from one of the touristy sidewalk cafes. Find one of the local places tucked away. All the good ones I found required you to walk through a tunnel to get to the front door :icon17:

Ms. BC, I think I fat-fingered your rep... it just says "y" or something like that :)

Been working on my RC car since 7am. :p
I like that I still have a lot of time to play today. :D

Typing on the iPod makes me look like a grammar freak... :icon08:

Got to make the pizza from the dough. Otherwise you're just halfarsing it. Just eat frozen pizza in this case.

I had one yesterday! I'm staying in a small town outside of Rome and there's a little pizzeria place here that's not touristy at all. No english on their menu, nobody speaks english
I get weird looks when I eat pizza with my hands though lol
I use the knife and fork to cut it into slices then eat those with my hands #murica

68 today, 74 tomorrow! I'm debating the wisdom of wasting this day on leaf-raking. :icon17:

Usually I wait and do it when it's 37 degrees and raining. :ugh:
