I'm about to put money down on a Canon 5DS and the 70-200 f2.8 L Mark II.
B&H has a deal for both that knocks 200 off the top. Not bad. That, coupled with a Gigapan Epic Pro and I will get back to uber detail in 40x50 inch prints. Always my goal. More for the camera and an order of magnitude less for the lens.

Get a real camera. Pics are so much better with a real camera. Although, dpreview seems to like that iPhone 6 camera.

Depends much on what you want to do with it. I want to do landscape, fine art, and studio work so ...

If you are looking for something to take snaps with, you should be able to get something for less than 400.
