yeah, I am old, fat and slow now lol takes me a day and a half min. to do a full detail. Thats why I am anal about what touches my paint lol I prefer to do good upkeep vs polishing shitty marks out of the paint.

yah, that's about the pace im going too. then when you do like wheel wells and stuff, that takes up like 2hrs easy.

when i qd my car every week, i clean the brake calipers too when im done cleaning my wheels. i like clean calipers. :D

i use my 3" ro for tight spots.

then wipe off using distilled water + MF detailing towel.

i lol at folks using SpeedShine to remove wax they just put on. more like u just removed 50% of the wax u just put on. :icon17:

I was looking at a small RO for door jams and such. What 3" model/brand you use?

Heh, they are easier than you think. The hardest part is learning which way to move and the speed of moving. Fight it and you are going to have a bad time lol easy, fluid motions with right amount of polish and its pretty easy.

I'm still pissed I had to park my poor Z in the rain while my garage door got installed. I haven't had a chance to clean it up since then.

It's waaaaay beyond dusting with quick detailer, but I didn't actually drive it except for a few feet, no puddles or anything, so it's not really "get the hose and spotless rinse stuff out" dirty either.

I was thinking I'd do Griot's waterless - it's just some dust/pollen from the rainwater, should be OK, right? I have a 32-oz bottle I bought to try it out since you recommended it.

I cut up pads and glue them to wood Shish-kabob skewers lol can make them any shape and get into really tight spots like between emblem letters

I used this the other day after getting caught in the rain and having waterspots all over it the next day. Was very easy to use and left no marring. I went through about 25 MF towels doing the car.

yah, that BugRelease does help remove bugs. i do an initial rinse, spray the bumper and side mirrors. give it a nice soaking..3min? then shampoo with a mitt.

easy off. i only use it when i need it.

madwi 06-04-2015 04:33 PM

I normally get a lot of bug suicide though living out in the country. A small price to pay though.

yah, especially if u have Xpel Ultimate no issue. small marring will eventually disappear as it self-heals. :D

My favorite combo with the rotary is:

+

Perfect finish before sealant/wax.

kenchan 06-04-2015 04:47 PM

wow, with the thin clear unless i must use polish i use a product call Prima Amigo.

it's a glaze (filler) that makes the surface flat. works great to hide haze and minor swirls. :D

I have only had to polish the Z once, right after I got it. Theclear/paint is so thin I am so cautious to keep it blemish free for as long as possible.
The 3m is a final polish and is hardly abrasive and the blue waffle pad doesnt generate a lot of heat and is very soft. I shudder to htink of having to run a heavy polish/pad combo on the Z.
