I was talking about foam applicators not $12 foam pads lol. I dont use anything but polishes with those. (I have about 30-40 polishing foam pads though) :icon17:

i tried washing a polymer'ed pad once and i was standing by my wash basin for like literally 15min trying to get all the polymer out.
not worth it for me.

i use OneStepSealant on my dd's. that's why i use the orange pads and just toss a few of them after use.
it's good stuff if used with random orbital. fast and easy. :D

kenchan 06-04-2015 04:03 PM

fast and easy = 3hrs

normal folk = 3hrs to wax a car?!

kenchan = 3hrs to detail a car?! (impossible!)

I get more even coats and also faster doing it by hand vs machine...

kenchan 06-04-2015 04:03 PM

my full details take 24-28 hrs. i need to break it up into 2-3 days. :ugh:

now ask me again why i dont like motoring my Z in the rain.

madwi 06-04-2015 04:04 PM

really? via machine is the way to go for me. even the natural wax using the red pad. i just rotate it until the wax is nice and burnished evenly.
i use my 3" ro for tight spots.

then wipe off using distilled water + MF detailing towel.

i lol at folks using SpeedShine to remove wax they just put on. more like u just removed 50% of the wax u just put on. :icon17:
