Yeah, I am kinda in a buy it now mood. Might be a few extra bucks, but I am hoping to get a wash in this weekend.

Will do.
Just for fun I am going to see how it does through the foam gun and in bucket.
It really needs a good hand wash and possible once over with something like 3m ultrafina and finishing waffle pad. Paint has held up really well with hand washing/foamer on powerwasher and going to the touchless wash every now and then when I was lazy.

kenchan 04-10-2015 12:02 PM

thats cool. ive never used a foam gun to wash. the reason is because i dont get to choose a shaded time of day to wash my cars...whenever i have time sun or cloudy is when i wash my cars.

so foam would dry too fast while washing in the summer sun. :icon17:

and for those that think  washing in the sun.. lol i do it all the time without getting water spots. :icon17: haha there's some trick to it though.

madwi 04-10-2015 12:03 PM

Not a bad haul.

Our second garage also has a drain built in and slightly sloped floors. best thing ever. Usually just hand wash in the garage but sometimes I am in a hurry and just spray it down with pressure washer/foam and rinse and go.

I bought a foam gun in the first year of owning the Z. I liked it a lot, but it's not a high quality one. I used special foaming wash and had to use a lot to get a nice, thick layer of foam. I was happy with its performance overall, but I only used it a few times for exactly the reason you mention - sun drys it out. I just gave away the last of the soap to my neighbor, and the foam gun is sitting in the same box it has been for the last three years :ugh:

I generally wash my car in the sun and have zero issues with water spots

madwi 04-10-2015 01:26 PM

Ripped out half the interior on drivers side  All I need to do is run 2 wires for back up cam darn it! :icon17:

Min e is a cheaper foamer too. If set on max mix soap goes QUICK! lol I should just hook it up to a gallon jug so I dont have to refill all the time. :icon17:

madwi 04-10-2015 01:49 PM

Video cable ran to rear of car  Now to figure out what wire goes where.
