2013 On Order
 

Hi Gang, looking forward to being a new Z owner soon. Placed a special order for a 2013 Gun Metal, 6mt with sport package this past Friday. Gonna have to wait the 3-4 months before it comes in, so that will be torture but I'm sure it will be worth it!

Used to own a '76 280z back in the day, so I guess you could say I'll be in the older crowd in this forum.:hello: My current rides are '04 G35 Coupe (auto, most likely selling this one) and 2011 VW GTI (auto), so a stick will be a very welcome addition.

I look forward to participating here and will be glad to give honest comparisons between the GTI and the new Z after I get it.

Welcome, nice cars! The 2013 will be pretty sweet, the led lights on the front bumper and the removal of the fangs are still a change many current owners are not too happy with, but its still a 370z! Enjoy it when you get it. :tup::driving:

nmjaxx9, Thank you for the kind words. It looks like the fangs are still somewhat there, but colored to match the rest of the grill. I guess Nissan has to do something to differenciate the years. Definitely looking to enjoy it! Thanks again.

I am planning on buying 370Z 2013 around September, please keep us posted how is progress on your order.

Magillus, will do. There are a couple of Nissan dealers close to me. Both are receiving their first 2013's in or around July. One dealer shows just one being received for now, but it's an automatic.

The other will be receiving 2. One is an auto and the second is a 6mt with a sports package (what I want), but it's white. While I think the white looks great (my current G35 Coupe is white), I want to get something different......unless they give me an offer I can't refuse :)

LakeShow, Thanks for the kind words. Notice you have Gun Metallic and now ordering a white. Those 2 were the only colors I was considering for mine.

A base white 370z parked next to my G yesterday and it was gorgeous! Maybe I might have to stick with white and get the Z a couple months sooner than waiting for the Gun Metallic. Hmmm

I think the pearl white would look awesome with black tinted windows, so something to think about.

Those are the only two colors I would consider for the Z. As much as I love my current Gun Metallic, I feel as it doesn't stand out as much as white would. I was looking at some of the white Z's here on the forums and they just look great. Nissan's Pearl white is such a pretty color.
Don't get me wrong I love the Gun metal as I did purchase it initially, but after debating to get another Gun metal or White, I went with white after comparing them for a while. Also on the 2013 will have red brakes and the LED's in the front, which I think will look awesome on the white no doubt. It's up to you, both great colors, you won't be disappointed with either. I personally think these are the best two colors. If you choose white you get it a few months earlier which is even better. Good luck! :tup:

Thanks for the positive words guys. My wife saw the picture of the Magna Red and she is the one who said "why not get that color, that looks really nice". O.o, if I get that color, she may insist on driving it more than me! LOL

Here's an update, according to my salesperson, the order for my 2013 went in so hopefully in 3 months I'll join all of you on the road. The wait is tough, especially reading about others getting their new Z's and enjoying it. So I decided to spend Memorial day honoring our fallen soldiers and their families who gave the ultimate sacrifice by visiting our local National Cemetary. Then took a wonderful mountain drive, plus the city in the GTI. I know it's not a 370Z but hope you enjoy the pics of my hometown.

Do they make that GTI in any other colour? Or does everyone just buy that colour? lol I think I've seen like 60 of those on the road since they came out.. and they've never not been black with red trim. That's a really good combination though.. just wondering hehe

Nice GTI. My brother in law has one and I love it, so fun to drive. Hey take a look at this color for the new 2013 Z. It just became available with the Magma red for 2013, called midnight blue.

ShinyBlueZ, the GTI only comes in 4 colors. Black, white, red and grey. Gotta agree with you, even here black seems to be number 1. However today on the mountain drive a white GTI was following me.

Actually wanted the grey for the color but the 2 dealers we have here didn't have any and was not expecting any soon. Luckily one of them was eager to offer me a great deal on the black so I went for it. It's all good, I can still get the grey for the 370z!

LakeShow, great color! Saw it on a GTR about 3 weeks back (I'm assuming it's the same color?). I have a feeling, the dealers here may get some other Z's in before my order comes in. So I'll keep an open mind and may change colors. :)

Magic Bus, good color to get for your '13 along with the packages. The wait is definitely worth the wait.

My son is home from college for the summer and he doesn't know I'm buying or have a Z on order. He's 20, has car racing video games and those games where you can customize your cars.

Showed him pics of a 2012 and the new 2013 Z's on the computer and asked him which he liked better. I was surprised when he said he like the 13 better. I was thinking he was going to say the 12, because of the fangs.

When I asked why the 13? He replied the front looks better. Hmmmm

Maybe this evening I'll ask him, what color?

Anyone know if the 2013 front bumper will mount up to the previous 370z's? I know the LED's would have to be wired up, but just curious...

I asked to pre order a 2013 nismo but dealer said it was to early... Wtf?

Go to another Dealer... I just spoke with mine here in SC for a 2013 Nismo and they said good to go 8-10 weeks roughly for delivery.

Im still debating on waiting for a 2013 Nismo to come in around me within a 3 hour drive and go pick it up or just order one...

Happened to be next door to a different Nissan dealer this past Tues, so I stopped in to look at a GTR they had in the showroom there. Their commercial & fleet sales manager comes up to me and we start chatting.

Not your typical car salesperson, very personable and more interested in hearing what I have to say than him listening to himself speak. Come to find out, we have a couple of mutual friends. Anyway, I inform him that I already have a 370Z on order from another dealership and he asks for the specifics, model, color, options, etc.

He then asks if he can beat their price would I have an objection buying the Z from his dealership. I reply, other than them holding my $2k as a security deposit, I wouldn't have an objection. He then asks for their price. I give him the details.

We go into his office, he gets on his computer, then informs me, he doesn't show the 2013 pricing yet, but based on the 2012 price he should be able to beat my other quote by about $200 taking into account a price increase for the 2013. So he says, this is what I'll do. I'm going to order your 2013Z, you don't have to put anything down and am under no obligation. Because if you don't buy this Z I know someone else will buy this particular set up very quickly.

He calls me yesterday and says the car has been ordered. Will call me when he receives shipping update.

Fantastic, I have 2 cars on order and should be able to get a better price now. Only 1 bummer......my car won't be one of a kind! LOL

Today, the Sales Rep from the Ford dealer that I test drove a Mustang GT at 4+ weeks ago (the day before I test drove the Z) gave me a call. Said they have a new Grey GT 6mt that just came in and his sales manager (whom I met) is willing to go really low, next to invoice, to get my business.

I informed them back then, that I decided to special order the 2013Z. I thought, that was that. But I gotta say, these guys are persistent. This was their 4th call since then. First call was the day after my visit, their female receptionist called thanking me for visiting their dealership and asking if their sales rep was professional & helpful. 2nd, Sales Rep, to see if I was still set on the Z. Third, Sales Rep to inform me of a 2011 Shelby GT that came in as a trade.

The Nissan dealership that I ordered my Z from and left a $2,000 deposit has not called or contacted me once in over 4 weeks! No thank you card, call, not even a thank you email, no calls to say the order was placed.....nothing. Wow, I committed to give them over $30 grand, and they said, I will appreciate their follow up and service dept? WTF I had to call them a week ago to verify that my order was placed.

What do you guys think? Should I possibly cancel my order with the current Nissan dealer and go with the 2nd Nissan dealer that ordered my car without a down, plus followed up with me? Or should I check out Ford again? Problem is, not enthusiastic about the Mustang GT looks. Boss or Shelby GT, maybe, but not sure I can justify the price difference over the Z in my mind.

^^Well it appears you are just upset at the specific dealership for not contacting numerous times. Bottom line is you places an order and nothing else is to be said and you placed a deposit. I've ordered numerous cars and dealerships don't call and contact me all the time.
It's just the way it is, if you really wanted to you could switch dealers, not go to a whole different manufacturer lol.
Anyways the Ford dealer is just trying to make a sale remember, they just calling you and acting all nice to lure you in, dealer tactics 101. Bottom line is get the car you want, not making your decision on how nice a dealership or salesman is.

Valid points above. I didn't need to get numerous contacts from the 1st Nissan dealer, a simple thank you card would seem like an appropriate response to a $30K plus sale (can you tell I'm in sales?).

You're right about the Ford dealer. Setting the bait out there. Not serious about getting a Stang, just want to hear peoples opinions.

Today, I received a call from the 2nd Nissan dealer (which I did not leave a security deposit) for the 2013Z. He informed me that Nissan confirmed that the car will be shipped from Japan toward the end of July.

The ship goes to California first, to get cleared through customs and then comes to Honolulu. So I should be able to receive my Z by mid August! :tup:

Dealer called to inform me two 2013's have arrived. My order is for a Gun Metal 6mt w/sport pkg. They have a Pearl White in the same configuration. Will take a look tomorrow morning and who knows......may end up with a PW instead!
