Oh no! Another salesman on the forums!

Hello everyone,

My name is Brendan and I'm taking over for Mike Weiland at Boardwalk Nissan. He had some back problems and had to bow out of sales, and since I'm our young forum junkie, they asked me to check and say hi.

I've been with Boardwalk on and off for about four years. I got lost on my way to the airlines after college (I'm a pilot), and got into car sales instead. All in all, it's been a fun way to pay back my flight training and college loans.

My love of Z's started in 2003 when a friend of mine managed to sweet talk his dad into taking his Silverstone Touring 6MT back with us to college. How he found enough excuses to do that I won't know, but spending a lot of time around that car blew me away. While that poor Z lived a rough life, we had a lot of fun. Nothing beat clutch kicking it sideways, holding it just off the lock and into the rev limiter, getting it back straight and chirping third, and having my opinion of the car completely change (I used to be a terrible Euro snob...).

I look forward to lurking around, and hopefully stealing a Z for a day to go to a few g2g's in the area!

Welcome!

Great, a euro snob. :p

Welcome!

Really sucks about the flying part. I fly for Delta, but came up through the military. If people really knew that new hire commuter guys who came up the way you did make less than a McDonald's worker, they would never fly!!!!!! Spend a fortune to make 15k a year, that really sucks.

Do you plan on flying later when things recover, or done for good?

Pushing_Tin 03-02-2010 09:07 PM

Hey Brendan! I almost bought a Corvette from you guys. Glad to have another aviation person here!

I'm reformed. I don't do this anymore to German cars. :nutswinger: Now I just do it for good cars. :rofl2:

I'm not fully decided yet. A friend of mine flies 402's for Cape Air and likes it, and a few friends were thrilled about XJet unless they got the furlough letter. While some of them have been recalled, most whine enough to keep me feeling less than thrilled about it. The income hit I might be able to deal with, but losing the QOL, doing the crashpad thing etc doesn't sound like a ton of fun. I might just keep flying as a hobby for now and see what the future brings. I've started gliding after doing a bit of towing, and that's a riot.

What did you fly in the military, and what are you moving for Delta now?

You're better off with a Z anyway. :p

If you're a controller, I'm sorry off the bat for everything I've done, and will do in the future. :rofl2:

E6A (707), LC130 (Antarctica), Metroliner and C12.

At the moment, I am right seat in the 777, but moving backwards to the 737 this month to be super senior instead of reserve.

Nice! I could imagine the 130 in Antartica was quite interesting. Any truth in keeping the engines running the whole time it's there in case it won't restart? Heard that urban legend somewhere.

Don't blame you on the super senior move. I could imagine getting the routes and schedule you want is more fun than being crew schedulings b*tch. :eekdance:

While I don't find my way up there often, my friends 414 is based near there. What are your intials so I can harass you personally? I kinda follow directions...

Where is his plane? I'm at EUG but work as far south as S03/MFR.

Brendan@Bwalk 03-02-2010 10:51 PM

I'm pretty sure the 414 is at EUG. If you hear N414WS it's most likely my friend Matt. He actually just got his recall letter to XJet too, and is a happy and sad camper at the same time.

LMAO! I just talked to him yesterday I think. Small world. I know even know where his hangar is. :icon17: So he's giving the job to somebody else?
