there is a thread here somewhere where they show the gains from the gen3... so you do get the gains. i think this particular guy got 18whp, but can't remember

It is noticeable. Add the intake and it is further improved as well.

if you want an intake, get stillen. if not, do drop ins and the post maf tubes. wanna talk about intake not being worth the money, every intake out there except the stillen. simple as that.

BTW, is there any easy/nice way of servicing the filters? Or do you have to take everything apart again? I just thought of that. lol

you would have to take the bumper off again if you want to get to the filters

Off topic, but there are some great mods to the Z that arent breather related.
I think I summed them up pretty well here:
Diamond in the rough.

I think I hit a weird tone in that post and some ppl got a bit upset thinking I was criticizing the Z. Actually I LOVE my Z. It just has a ton of room for tuning and easy upgrades. Check out my post for some ideas.

After you do it the first time it will be a piece of cake. It's not difficult, the problem with most imports are things are hidden or almost impossible to get to. Once you know what you're looking for it's easy.

I like that.

When we took the fascia off to do the intake, it was terrifying. I was afraid I was gonna break something. Took forever on one side, the other side went very quickly. So, I hear what you are saying there.

I am still used to the Nova. Big hammer, big prybar! (and I have spare parts!)

If you're nervous about removing the bumper on your $30K car, fair enough simply get post MAF tubes and K&N filters, the tubes are great because they are silicon and keep air intake temps cooler on hot days than a metal intake pipe does.

Someone had installed Gen2 intakes, which are similarly designed to the stock air intake and was able to get 330+whp with other mods, so the intake isn't going to prevent you from breaking 300whp.

if legal in your area, test pipes are a better gain with less work to maintain (no filter cleaning).
1. drop ins
2. test pipes
3. (unrelated, but pull your Steering lock fuse, which even after recall can still fail)

less than 500 bucks and good power gain.
