iceman21_23 09-12-2009 09:38 PM

that's not going to show any gains fyi, ur still having the intakes being heat soaked from the engine

kdo2milger 09-12-2009 09:55 PM

got a pic of where those hoses end up on the front side of the radiator?

RCZ 09-12-2009 10:30 PM

What did you do for the MAF sensors? I really hope they are the same diameter as the stock ones...if they are bigger then the scaling is going to be off and you possibly will run very lean...as in you might blow it up. I dont get why you went through all the trouble of getting those flex pipes in there to make it a CAI and then left the filters in the bay. Those filters are terrible. If I had to guess you actually lost power, unless you leaned the crap out of it, then you are going to make power, but not safely.

Granted we have been seeing that the car seems to be really good at targeting AFR numbers even when we try to change the tune...so you probably just lost power..

nogoodname 09-12-2009 10:35 PM

how did you connect the hoses from rad area to filters???

please dont tell me you used circular filters and attached hoses on each side b/c then there's no filtering.....lol

FuszNissan 09-12-2009 10:39 PM

Wow....I'm speechless.

iceman21_23 09-12-2009 11:12 PM

im actually kinda of ashamed this happened in houston...

dainedazz 09-13-2009 07:23 AM

>_<

Snakes709 09-13-2009 10:18 AM

car is how many months old and he already ****** it up. Trying explaining this one to the dealership if you need them to fix something.

frost 09-13-2009 10:45 AM

I guess I'm confused by the pics, it looked like you were going for a cai, but then ended with short pipe intakes?

m4a1mustang 09-13-2009 11:12 AM

holy...

nogoodname 09-13-2009 11:14 AM

is this a prank ??... did we just get punked ??

kdo2milger 09-13-2009 11:17 AM

Well, Ummmmmm....Gotta give him some points for original thinking anyway!...;) We've all gotta start somewhere! My original designs from 10 years ago were a little shaky too..

Unless he adapts those hoses to the fang vents, the filter will default to the area of least restriction, which will be hot air inside the engine bay. No telling how much restriction all that accordion hose will incur...I agree on the probable loss of power with this as it is now.....

:iagree: because it needs to be ram air and if the hoses arent positioned in away that they can recieve forced air at speed then they will be a useless part of the system...

also all the accordian hose will not create the venturi effect that most cai's are designed to do...

ssqpolo 09-13-2009 12:51 PM

oh my gawd:wtf2:

96bigbody 09-13-2009 04:46 PM

You guys are :bowrofl: Yes it gets it's air from the fangs. Don't see the problem it's getting cold air and know for a fact it's making more power.
What did you do for the MAF sensors/QUOTE]

used the stock ones.

iceman21_23 09-13-2009 04:48 PM

you dynoned it? if so i wanna see numbers...

Snakes709 09-13-2009 04:51 PM

i wanna see numbers on before and after on this. I swear people will put a tuna fish sandwich on there car if they thought it would make more power....this is just wanna them times.

96bigbody 09-13-2009 04:52 PM

Oh.. and your a :nutswinger: Talk to me when you have three cars making over 600hp

Snakes709 09-13-2009 04:55 PM

unless u have another car that isnt in your sig, you only have 2 cars, your 370z defently isnt making 600hp with your martha stewart intake mod. Post your dyno graph up

Well that's just crazy. But I do use brawndo as fuel for the extra hp. It's got electrolytes.

Also have a camaro with full boltons and juice. You only get three lines for your sig.

frost 09-13-2009 05:03 PM

^ worst quoter ever. :p

Snakes709 09-13-2009 05:05 PM

ah, very nice. However it still has nothing to do with this thread. Thats like me saying "talk to me when you drive a tank with xxxx amount of hp" because i drive a tank...It has nothing to do with the thread. The point everyone is making is that, yes its creative, ill give you that. But at the same time its most likely hurting power and risking the chance of damaging something. Then you claim its making more power then stock, which you have yet to prove with a dyno sheet of that car before and after the mod.

I'm just saying I know a thing or two about making HP. I know its making more power I can feel it.. ever heard of butt dyno?

Snakes709 09-13-2009 05:22 PM

i guess stillen, injen and the other companies that make intakes better look how huh?..lol

theDreamer 09-13-2009 05:22 PM

Butt dyno...lol, sorry I have no support for a butt dyno, especially with a mod like this. I know with bigger changes, exhaust plus HFC you can tell a difference, but not with something like this which I would bet is not even working or adding gains.

Also, please learn to quote, it makes it difficult to read your posts and see if you are typing something or you are actually quoting someone.

Togo 09-13-2009 05:23 PM

alright, i don't know if you've noticed, so i'm going to point it out...

ending your quotes with /QUOTE] doesn't work instead it needs to be
:tiphat:

:ninja3: ahhh Dreamer beat me to it, but I give specifics! :D

yep

Snakes709 09-13-2009 05:30 PM

oh i love the butt dyno. Its 100% accurate, unlike mustang or dynojet dynos. I did a butt dyno pull on my ZX6R...thing is fast as hell. Since my 370z 300~ with my intake...since my ZX6R is way faster i must be at 1000whp on my bike...

Incase you havent notice, there was alot of sarcasim there. Stop being a cheap *** and go pay $90~ for 3 pulls on the dyno, while your putting a stop to your "cheap ***" ways...go buy a real intake.

Togo 09-13-2009 05:34 PM

On a separate note, Snakes did you ever dyno your 6R? I got mine dynoed, got 110RWHP on a Dynameter dyno. He said his reads lower than a Dynojet which would have read roughly 122RWHP, so he says. I was stoked and that thing definitely pulled harder.

Snakes709 09-13-2009 05:37 PM

no never been on the dyno with the bike, might do one in the spring. I would go do one this week but my extra money has to go towards repairing my Z. Then in the spring i have to repair the bike....damn bike fell on the car...either the winds or kids knocked it over. I think the 08 ZX6R is like 150bhp...not sure what it is to the wheel. Only mod i have is frame sliders.

Togo 09-13-2009 05:39 PM

Ahhha ok. Yeah I know the 636 was 136BHP and most people were getting about 107-110 RWHP on dynojets and like 94-99 on dynameters. I've got a whole slew of mods though and then had a custom mapping done on the dyno. :D

You need to shut your pie hole idiot. I just did this saturday. Kinda hard to dyno a mod like this
