Great new product since there aren't many 3" exhaust systems out right now but I feel like the muffler style on the 2.5" system is cleaner looking

We just put one of these on a convertible last week and it sounds incredible with the top down. Hoping to get him to come back soon, so we can get sound clips and more pictures! Here are a few pictures I snagged with my phone before the car came off the lift.

I'm still interested in this exhaust.

How do you think the sound volume compares to the short-tails? I am kind of hoping that this fits in-between the short-tails with s-line mid-pipe and the 2.5" true-dual in terms of loudness but I guess since it's 3" it has me a little skeptical that it will be softer than a straight-pipe/no-muffler exhaust system.

Are you still discounting $300 for sound/video clips, or have you sold enough already?

I have a digital interface for my phone where I hook up a studio mic for high-quality sound recording, (works great on the go when I cant use a mixing program on my computer all the time), it would probably be pretty neat to test it out on some other "musical equipment"

I also see on your site that you have a new axle-back exhaust.

Similar questions,

any rough idea how much power that will make with the s-line mid-pipe in conjunction to your other exhausts as well as estimates on loudness?

It sounds awesome. The short tails mated with the s-line midpipe is just way too loud. That was one of the main reasons we went ahead and created our axle back.

As far as volume goes, the midpipe/axle back combo are very similar to the 2.5" true dual, but with a slightly deeper tone. It definitely helps hide how "raspy" the VQ37 and eliminates drone. We have quite a few bit of samples for sound clips, but I will gladly extend the $300 off to you for sound and video clips.

The s-line midpipe and axle back will make almost the same amount of power as the midpipe and short tails. Their is only a 1 or 2 WHP difference between the two. A lot of time went into the R&D to make sure it flowed well enough. The G37 that we tested the s-line midpipe and axle back combo on sounds fantastic. It's still louder than the true duals, but not as loud as with the short tails. The axle back basically helps keep the drone in check that some people experience with the short tails.

I would say sound level wise, they follow this from loudest to "quietest"

Midpipe with short tails (very loud, raspy)
3" true dual (just a tad quieter, but not raspy or droney)
Midpipe with axle back (quieter, slight rasp, no drone)
2.5" True dual (about same volume, no rasp or drone)

pretty curious about this....i just always hear 3 inch exhaust is mainly for boosted cars,and bad for NA cars..

looks freakin awesome however. sound clips?

On the dyno, we got the most gains out of the 3" exhaust. Yes, they're great for boosted cars, but that doesn't mean it's bad for NA. You will still see gains, especially when paired with test pipes.

Yes its apples and oranges, but high horsepower/high compression NA Honda 4cyls such as a K20a or a b18c5 make great gains with 3" exhausts vs. 2.5" and we're talking about 1.8 and 2.0 engines.

NA applications are always able to make better power with more flow in, more flow out, and more RPM.

Any perceived "loss" of power on the low end isn't really relevant. If I was doing a serious NA setup, shorter gearing would be a high priority anyway.

Can I still get good gains and better sound if I did axleback with stock nismo exhaust or is flow too restricted from the stock pipes? I like how high the cans are but I am not sold on the angles coming out from the bumper. Thanks for the info

You won't really get performance gains out of the axle back, because the factory midpipe is too much of a constrictor. Once you open the midpipe, then you will see the gains. As far as sound goes, it will definitely give you a louder exhaust note.

I'd jump on that new axle back...
I did enjoy the short tails with the s-line mid pipes, but did get loud and a tad annoying
when i just wanted to cruise with music on. lol

But it is out of my price range, would love to do some sound clips since
i have the Mid pipes and CAI from AAM.

Also with the G37 sound clip, what other mods are on it?

I'm curious how loud this would be on my z with long tube headers...

We are working hard on getting the videos completed and posted. We will have a video of a G37 with long tubes, our s-line midpipe and axle back and the thing sounds amazing. I will post them as soon as they are done. Hoping to have them posted next week for you guys.

Put the new AAM axle back on today.

Sound clips coming soon.

It is true to their word, no drone, not loud, but enhances the stock VQ sound a bit, especially under load. Cruising off throttle etc it basically sounds stock, till you get into the throttle and it makes some nice noises. But again, it is not loud. I am going to pair it with a mid-pipe soon

Install was a breeze, and there is about 3lbs of weight savings, for those that are curious of those kinds of details.
