honestly unless you were doing LTI, id stick to the stock airbox with drop in filters and post MAF tubes

and when did i post that? i can tell you that was months before i saw someone actually dyno that set up, hate to break it to you but people's opinions change and i feel that mod is stupid and a waste of money for a gain of 3whp over their a full FI Exhaust, at least now i do

also i dont have a log on that day, i dont run torque all the time but here is a log from DEC 26

the highest IAT i saw was 24C which is 75F and i saw as low as 57F(14C), not bad imo for something that sucks in 200+ engine bay temps all the time

i did take the intakes off for a period of time but than randomly i decided to buy 2 cone style filters(specter air filters at orileys) and put the intakes back on, it made a world of difference

the most i have seen is 130 IATs and that was literally in dead stop for 30 mins cause CHP had shut down the highway temporarily cause of an accident(thankfully it wasnt long)

ill wait until summer to see what IATs are then but right now my IATs are the same as the stock box from what i logged and im extremely happy with the intakes, although i do plan on extending them using similar parts Synolimit(only difference is it being in bigger size) used so i can have a true cold air intake until i supercharge
INTERESTING you say this as I too bought the spectre filter but it didn't fit my Ram Air Tubes because filter was too big....I'm curious to know how you fitted it?

what was your piping size? my intake piping size is 2.75in with it tapering down to 2.5in at the MAF, i bought a 3in filter but since it was only .25in off it fit just fine, no leaks or what not

if your intake piping is 2.5in or within .25in smaller of it, you want to get their 2.5in filter

you were driving 100mph at 2k RPM's and you're still not even at ambient temps? this is a really bad example.

thats 100kph or 60mph(was still fixing some of bugs with the app not uploading the proper measurements), at 100mph id be well above 3k in 6th

stock boxes dont get to ambient temps anyways, the most they are at are 8 above from what i saw from previous logs

like i said, im seeing the same data as stock boxes but the butt dyno says there is more power, i definitely noticed a difference in torque

http://www10.zippyshare.com/v/87060050/file.html
there is a log from the DEC 5, stock boxes and this was when it was close to 37 out iirc and the lowest i see is 11C(51F)

IMO not worth the $200 someone will spend on drop ins and silicone tubes.
K&N Air Filters Added to Stock Air Boxes??

Shows quite a bit more than a 3 whp increase here.

Iirc those dynos are from a couple years ago and they are on a stock 370z, as you can tell from the dyno, heck I think they are from the original maf tube and drop ins thread.

What would be interesting to see is maf tubes over stock intakes on a car with other mods and than see the dyno. I doubt anyone will see more than 5whp on top of their current setup and that's being very optimistic(and even than 5whp is is like changing from a dirty filter to a clean one)

For a DD, probably not worth the cost for a very few more HP. But it's an easy mod and, if you like the look, why not?

Personally, I'd put the money toward an exhaust. You won't gain a lot of HP that way either, but it will sound better.

You're not going to see much in the way of gains with cheap, easy solutions. Nissan has already picked all the low-hanging fruit.

ya when i had the K&N pod filters on there i was running into problems with acceleration, heat soak, ect.

i dont know what caused me to put the intakes back on my car with a different filter, i was just at o'rileys and bought the filters randomly and slapped everything back on my car

either way when im done fixing my transmission ill be extending out the SRI into CAI since it costs less than $50 for me to do it, if you get the chance to id suggest you do that as well since its only gonna be better for the car anyways
