If its routed in the same locations -- I'm guessing nothing. Its probably just a flexible tube that runs between the IM port and the rubber intake tube.

Read Z1's description though.

That site says only for aftermarket intakes. I'm guessing this is because the OEM accordion hose has a female hole and aftermarket intakes have a male nipple welded on. If the OP has a OEM intake he will need a sleeve or connector to go into the OEM accordion hose and into the new Z1 hose

The OEM piece is a restrictor. You're not getting any weird issues? I'd love to see a log or oil catch can or something that that restrictors supposed to restrict.

Resonators or restrictors?

OP, since you broke yours, can you cut it open? I'd like to see inside.

I have aftermarket intakes, they are Fujita from a g37. So they didn't fit 100% to begin with, but from what I'm reading the Z'1s should do the trick. Thanks for the help guys, appreciate it!

Did you want me to cut open the rectangular box? ( i dont exactly know what its called, so im just gonna call it that lol )

It probably just narrows in diameter and/or has a hard plastic or metal fitting inside the tube -- doesn't look like it has any kind of filter or specially shaped resonator.

Basically, just a line of tubing.

Did the OP ever cut open the stock baffle unit that was broken? If so, what was inside? Also, has anyone installed the Z1 silicone PCV breather hoses? If so, any issues either during the install or post-installation? Thanks.

I cut one open before -- its is literally completely hollow. There is just a 90* bend and hollow plastic -- that's it.

If there's something special to the design, it's in the dimensions of the piece -- not the internals, as there are none.

Thanks Jordo. Good to know. Not sure if I'll remove the baffle units and simply run a set of Z1 silicone breather hoses from the intakes. I'm a little concerned about how that might affect air flow … since the hoses are evidently fitted with "restrictors" (???).

The only restriction is the diameter change from the fittings on either side to the small plastic box. Unless the 90* bend itself is considered critical, I honestly don't see what it could be doing -- there's no internal butterfly valve, nor filter, or anything like that.

I'd just get the autozone 90* bend piece and call it a day. The Z1 set is nice for dress up and avoiding the possibility of inflexible plastic breaking, but otherwise, nothing special, at least as far as I can see.

If I have my old one lying around still, and can find it, I'll post a pic.
