That's horrible to see.

Did you try contacting Tony? I'm pretty sure he could've helped you out but not sure if it will be the same case after this thread.

Zoren 370 08-05-2014 05:17 PM

:iagree: sadly you placed judgement practically to the whole company and their products!

Im not saying that you dont have the right to do that being as the consumer. I just hope you gave them the chance to rectify the problem.

I spoke to them before I made this thread. They will not warranty mine because I bought it used from a member here. It's also roughly 2-3 years old.
After the email exchange of being told
I wouldn't receive any help, I linked them this thread hoping they'd chime in but no luck.
Either way, first revision or tenth, it should be thoroughly tested hard to make sure welds are solid and should not have used such sh1t thin metal, especially for the price they ask.
And let's not forget the o2 bongs are closed off, as you can see from my photos, wtf!?

Sorry to hear about your test pipes.
Your comments did bring up some interesting feedback.
From my experience, you can get the same or BETTER product
for less money by going with more of a generic brand. For example,
I've been very pleased with bithe test pipes and,HFC's from
Z1 Motorsports.Their own Z1 brand.I've never had a problem with any
of their stuff.I had their plenum spacer on my 350.It fit/worked
just as well as a Motordyne for about half the price.
You do have to keep in mind of who is doing your install.Replacing&fixing
cats etc is not a shade tree job.THe installer can screw up a good product.

What happened to Motordyne? They use to be very active on here and than disappeared...

G37sHKS 08-11-2014 02:04 AM

Why they would be active?

They were here to show us their products and now there is nothing new to show.

Op purchased these art pipes in 2012 used. They were not in mint condition:

"So I got the V1's off the forum used. There was cracks around the welds on one of them, but it was re-welded at my boy's shop, PetrolWerks."

If you look at the images above from 2012 to the current photos in the beginning of this thread the Ops exhaust has rusted quite significantly. Op stated they did reach out to Motordyne via email and received a response they were not satisfied with.

Motordyne has a 1 year warranty on welds for the original owner: https://www.motordyneengineering.com/pages.php?pID=1 when the op purchased these used he was on his own.

Motordyne has consistently high customer service marks. If you search around here you will see that consistency.
We all have personal lives outside of work. I happen to know Tony has just moved from California to Georgia. I would assume he will be able to focus on "the forums" when time permits. The business operation is 100% if you call customer service or email you will get the same prompt service. Postulating that forums are a relevant arena for customer service requests is silly.

The fact that you guys would even think it is his responsibility to repair these is ridiculous. They were purchased second hand, repaired by people outside of the organization, and have been used in a corrosive environment.

If I bought a pair of Nike shoes second hand, had the sole repaired by a cobbler, and then had a subsequent failure after running through chemicals do you think Nike would do anything for me?

OP, at the end of the day it sucks you have had so many problems with these. Sadly, bungs breaking off of test pipes is common across the board. And when buying used performance parts there is always a risk you will not experience the best results.

This is a super late reply and I understand your point of view, but there has been no answer as to why the o2 bong was covered up with metal.
