This looks like nice exhaust

TonyBPD 07-29-2010 05:59 PM

Hey Alex! Did you guys send him a new piece yet? You guys have an awesome exhaust but please try to keep customer service as a top priority! Go to the shop, grab new (correct) piece, ship it out. Everyone is happy.

I am ordering this exhaust and I'm quite curious as well. I will be checking the flanges before installation though, just to be sure :tiphat:

Will do. You guys have been very helpful in this process and will always keep our customers and future customers in the loop.

Or J-Bonez? Did you ever get your situation resolved? Highly curious since my Ark Exhaust is currently on a FedEx Truck :)

TonyBPD 08-03-2010 03:57 PM

I really hope so. Its been well over a week.

corner3garage 08-03-2010 04:21 PM

Get ready for the shipment in 12 days!

Nope, still hasn't been resolved. Haven't heard anything from ARK at all about the situation. I guess they are just hoping to avoid the problem all together!

Give us a call if you don't hear back from Alex. I'll do my best to mediate.

Way to step in this matter. As a supporter of this company and its product, I hope that they just take care of this issue. Grab a correct piece of an exhaust in the warehouse, ship said piece, customer is happy and your not flamed. I don't have a nickel in this but I hate when something like this is not taken care of.

Interesting, so no news was actually no news. Seems like they would want to get this taken care of since bad publicity flies on a forum like this. Hopefully they take care of you, hopefully my exhaust does not have the same problem.

DriveLineEric 08-04-2010 12:24 PM

I called over to ARK Performance today and found that Alex has left for Korea, temporarily. He should be back within the next couple of weeks. Until then, this issue can be solved by speaking with their warehouse manager by calling (909) 391-1275.

They have explained that an adjustment can be made by "pushing up the flange and rebolting that portion of the exhaust."

One_Quick_Z 08-04-2010 04:07 PM

Any baseline dyno and after exhaust dyno? went through the thread and didnt find any info on this

The first part of the post I can get down with. The second has to be the funniest thing ever. I know you didn't say it Eric!

Alex should be chiming in soon. We spoke with him earlier today.

Give us a call. First we will direct you to reinstall the midpipe. If it still hits then we will replace it asap

Well, whether this is correct or not, my exhaust is built the same way. Pics here:

Nissan 370Z Forum - bullet1's Album: Exhaust

I'll try to install it and see what happens.

TonyBPD 08-05-2010 03:34 PM

What does your supplied gasket look like?

bullet1 08-05-2010 03:42 PM

the gaskets are all separate so I have 2 - 2 bolt gaskets to go on that connection. While it doesn't seem like it would affect the fitment much, who knows. We'll see.

TonyBPD 08-05-2010 03:46 PM

My gasket was one piece. Bottom line is someone, somewhere screwed up. I wonder how many are jacked?

Here is a close up of mine -

This is very interesting! Hopefully you don't have the same problem I had.

All my gaskets were separate also!

Alex

The friend who installed it is very knowledgeable at installing exhausts. He tried any trick he could to get more space between the cross member. He loosened everything up pushed the mid pipe up with a transmission jack re-tightened everything and still ended up with no extra clearance.

TonyBPD 08-05-2010 06:48 PM

I'm finally realizing why EVERY Fast Intentions thread is 3581 pages long. Customer Service.

bullet1 08-05-2010 08:47 PM

Well, So far so good. I did what your buddy did and lifted up the front X-Pipe with a jack and tightened the front cat bolts as close to even as possible with the shape of the flange. Then I loosely put on the rest of the bolts and the exhaust. Then I kept the jack on the X-Pipe by the cross member and tightened up the 4 bolts right behind there aligning those flanges as best I could as well. Then finally tightened up the last 4 bolts before the canisters and made sure the tips were centered. Then, I let down the jack on the x-pipe and it stayed put and did not come down on the cross member.... Thank goodness. So, my only conclusion is that if you can try to loosen your bolts again and start by aligning the cat bolts first and go from there you MIGHT be able to gain some clearance.

I was worried when I saw it but I have a good 1/2 in of clearance at that point so I don't think I will have any trouble. **crosses fingers**

TonyBPD 08-05-2010 08:57 PM

Did you drive it yet?

bullet1 08-05-2010 09:22 PM

Yes, drove it for about 20 minutes, no rattling or rubbing. Love the sound.

fullmonty 08-05-2010 09:40 PM

Awesome man!

TonyBPD 08-05-2010 09:43 PM

Im glad it worked out for you. It does sound amazing thats for sure. I'm still convinced that the flanges are jacked due to a mistake somewhere. A mistake that should be taken care of.
