What do you think about this exhaust setup.
I love the aam competetion the best because of the deepest growl of any exhuast but it lacks hp compared to the fast intension. I love the fast intension because of the low tone/ growl that almost matches the aam competetion with the 20hp and 11foot pounds of torque. But I absolutely hate the hiss! I love the motordyne exhuast but again hp does not match the f.i I was thinking of doing this:
-motordyne art pipes -motordyne xyz y pipe -fast intention exhuast Do you think I can get the same horsepower/torque and eliminate the nasty hiss. Also. Do not comment if you like the hiss. Or tell me that it comes from the vq engine or cats. Thanks |
Not gonna work. XYZ Y pipe does not fit on Fast Intentions X pipe. To further complicate things, the X pipe connection is not the same location as the stock Y pipe connection. Just buy the Motordyne exhaust system and Art pipes, everything except the mid pipe back is Motordyne anyways. And in all honesty Who gives a flying Fig Newton about hiss when you can't hear it from the drivers seat? Comparing exhaust output is retarded, especially the two aforementioned. The difference is academic. Are you going look at your Z different because it made 2whp less than another Z?

good to know, thanks....i am just very picky where i want the best of three worlds. sound performance and weight savings. if the difference between the two exhaust is 5, its a big difference to me because thats like adding an pulley, or a plantun spacer, or a hfc.

Most of our customers dont have hissing issues with the Berk HFC and its a 200 cell HFC which gives good power compared to the other 300 cell hfc's. I would go with the fast intentions exhaust since you like the power and a berk HFC.

Accept that there will be hiss more or less. I like my hissing sound.

OP, FI will have hiss, there are other's with hiss. I have not heard the Berk and FI combo and can only speak to FI HFC and CBE - the combination is simply extraordinary! Raf |
I love the sound of the AAM true dual exhaust...I'm just waiting for it to arrive. It will be matched with ART pipes and an AEM Nismo CAI which I have already installed. The gains should be similar to FI, but the dyno will tell the story after an Uprev tune. I will post the results and a video. I'm thinking I'm still a couple weeks out on the exhaust because I order it with GTR Ti tips which they are waiting for. I don't think there will be any hiss, but I don't really care that much. The ART pipes are pretty good at knock that down.

^sounds good! but i like the aam tails sound better..i might get the aam tails, motordyne y pipe and art pipes and wait for aam to make a mid pipe...anyone know if muffler delete decreases hp or torque with that installed?
|
No HP improvement over stock with short tails. Bottlenecks are Y pipe and cats.
If you want to PM me, I'm debating on selling my stuff in prep for Forced induction. PPE ceramic coated stepped LTH's, Motordyne XYZ Y pipe, HFC and resonator for Y pipe, and MAYBE... my Tanabe exhaust, which happens to have the same connection points as stock. You could run AAM shortails on the Tanabe midpipe if for some reason things aren't loud enough. Have no idea what the combination would sound like. |
I will putting my short tails up for sale as well, I just need to get them posted. PM me if you are interested. They are like new about 2K miles on them.
|
Hotrod I would very much be interested. Pm price. But what made you decide to change the short tails out?
|
Go listen to his videos haha.. its not a DD setup after TP's. Am I right?
