No, you can't equate the hp that way. A Lotus Elise SC may smoke our 370Z and it has under 300hp. Power to weight ratio is a better way to compare the cars.

Does anyone know if this is a good estimate ?

I raced a buddy of mine who owns a modded Evo 8 and we were dead even pretty much. He got his car dyno'd on a dyno dynamics and dyno'd 278whp. Does that mean I have around the same whp ? Is that a half *** way of getting an estimate. There is no driver mod because we are pretty even in that field.

Lots of factors come into play, power to weight being the most significant. Then you have gearing, tires, RWD vs AWD, shifting etc..

Of course by racing you meant on the track :)

I'm trying to decide if I wanna wait to install and get a before dyno then an after dyno with the exhaust and HFC. Would like to contribute to RCZ's dyno thread but at the same time I'm not sure I wanna spend all the extra messing with it and transporting the exhaust around. Decisions decisions..

put it onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

Yeah well it would only be a couple days difference. Get the exhaust on wed. Hopefully get the dyno done Sat. and put the exhaust on Sun. or Mon. I would like to know the gain and what my baseline are. It could actually all be done Sat. but I doubt it.

How is everyone getting their bolt-ons tuned ? Is it just dyno and wide band O2 ?

Tony should be able to answer this

havent tuned mine yet...holding out to see what cobbs is going to release for the 370z as far as maps go...

B1nks 09-09-2009 02:05 PM

getting my baseline done on Sat and installing on sat with the HFC. Will go back for another dyno at a later date(monday at the earlist) and it will all be done on a dyno jet. Seeing as how Houston weather is pretty consistent it shouldn't differ greatly getting it done 2 days apart because both days will be hot and crappy.

theDreamer 09-09-2009 02:07 PM

What shop in Houston are you using?

XwChriswX 09-09-2009 02:10 PM

You guys only do install's right, no dyno at your shop?

I was gonna use Engine Logics but when I called they were pretty short with answers(the lady answering the phone was anyways). I remembered seeing on Carboys' website that they had a dyno and called them up becuase they did my KW V3 install on my 350z and did an EXCELLENT job and the car came back very clean and they were very professional. So I'm going to them for it. They have a dyno jet and Engine Logics has a DD(which I was kinda hoping to use) but it doesn't really matter.

Oh man the wait is killing me knowing that it so close to being here. We had a good cruise last night through some mountains and Damn it would've been good to hear this bouncing of the mountains:tup:
