Ive been told by tony that even the non resonated x pipe and CF mufflers wont be nasty raspy sounding.. it will have a very nice exotic sound to it.. I guess ill just have to wait till i get mine lol.

tony, i would be great if you can answer the question i posted earlier, and this one. which one is louder, the resonated test pipes or the hfc's? thanks alot man.

I'm with Fusz here, all I have on my car right is the Berk HFC's and I love the sound. Sounds stock with gentle driving, but gets pretty damn lout and aggressive at WOT. :icon18:

Are those 18" resonators?

Test Pipes will always be louder than HFCs. HFC have a core, a cat is still there. Test Pipes are just hollow pipes. Nothing to interfere with the flow. Test Pipes will be louder, maybe not by a huge amount, but louder still. They will also net more power, not a LOT more power, maybe just 1-3 or 4 more HP but still more...

are the stock cats really considered high flow? if so, are they as high flow as the fast intentions cats?

Stock Cats are NOT considered high flow. They are nearly the exact opposite. Anyone else's HFC (Stillen, Berk, FI, AAM, Zele, Amuse, etc.) will flow better.

From what has been said by Tony and others, this system doesn't seem real prone to rasp. With HFC and any resonator, 12" or 18", you shouldn't get rasp. It has even been said that the Straight X will not rasp either but we're yet to hear a sound clip.

If you are trying to "quiet the car down" because you are running HFC and a set of headers, yeah 18" might be better. It will just be a deeper sound.

will a larger resonator take away any hp? will the bigger resonator also affect ground clearance?

but im not talking about the open test pipe, im talking the resonated test pipe. the resonated test pipe will still be louder than the HFC?

Won't effect your ground clearance because the resonators run parallel to the ground but will just be 6" longer. The resonators are just after the X pipe and before the cans. They are straight through resonators so I don't see how you'd lose any HP.

A resonated test pipe is the same as a test pipe in design and lack of core with the exception that it has a section that is flared into a larger piping to help eliminate rasp. It'll will still be a straight through shot, no core, louder than HFC.

When I said Test Pipe in my post i was refering to either RTP or TP. RTPs should rasp less, TPs should more.

the resonators both up right after the mufflers correct? in this picture these are the resonators right? Nissan 370Z Forum - dszombiex's Album: Fast Intentions Exhaust Install - Picture

No, they bolt up before the Mufflers (Cans).

http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/IMG_5036.jpg

You can see them here. They are right there by the X pipe. It starts with the flanges that bold to the HFC or RTP then it moves to the X pipe, then to the resonators, then to the Muffs/Tips.
