Yeah, i'm just so picky about my car. and I used to actually polish aluminum and SS for people, motorcycle wheels, frames, old car intakes, etc etc... it takes A LOT of work though, especially when you have to cut casting down. The cans and such are beautiful obviously, and most would never notice... you can just see BARELY in the halogen lights I use for detailing that the pipes have just a slight hint of scratches from the buffing process. Once you get to a point of polishing though... ANYTHING will scratch it... even just touching it with your finger.

LoL That explains the username.

Quick question for those of you who did the install of your CBE or whatever your set-up is, yourself... or for Tony if he happens to stop by...

Do the 2 pipes that connect to the cats or test pipes have to go on a certain side or are both pipes the same? The gaskets have to be turned a certain way, so I wasn't sure about the pipes. When I look at them, they don't line up completely flush with my ART pipes which are the same size flanges as stock and I would assume that this exhaust is the same as well?

Well there are only 2 ways the pipe can go on. It wont fit either way?

No no, I mean, they fit... but I don't know if the flanges on both of the pipes (the ones that are seperated and go from the mid pipe to the cat or test pipes... whatever someone has) are supposed to fit flush to the other flanges... in other words, was one pipe made specifically for the drivers side and one for the passengers?

Yes one pipe is made for the driver side and one is made for the passenger. The installation instructions that I sent with the exhaust explain all of this.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me directly...

Thanks, Tony

ahhh sh!t ... I gotta check on it now.. I think they are correct... but I need to look it over again lol.

Methodical4u 09-08-2011 08:20 PM

Yep, I just checked a little bit ago... I got it right, I just was making sure, I was just thinking the gaskets and the way they went on, made me worry a little.

Methodical4u 09-09-2011 01:12 AM

Ok, I replaced the gaskets that I TRIED to use but they just produced a leak... my fault though.. I didn't read the directions like I should have.

Oh well though, I fixed everything tonight and when I started it, it was much more quiet than last night. I also disconnected the battery to make sure the ECU is reset for when I take it out. Hopefully that will be tomorrow, but it's been raining here so much I haven't wanted to take the car out.

I do indeed LOVE the tone though... it's just an excellent sound. This was actually the exhaust I picked out over all of the ones I listened to even before I got the car when I went through all of the vid clips... plus it looks AWESOME lol.

Anyway, I am still going to try to get some vids outside of the car of take-off, drive by, etc.

Just placed my order for the CBE w/18" resonators. Getting the resonated HFCs from a forum member at a great price too. I am #398. Hello to everyone on the waiting list.
