The person you see in the picture is Dan. He is my business partner. It states in our instructions that you need to make sure the flanges on the back of the X Pipe are level. As you can see, we are doing that in the picture above. From there, it makes it much easier to line the rear mufflers up. Once they are bolted up to the X Pipe but loose, they have adjustability.

With that being said, it is very hard to align them perfect by yourself...

Tony, It would be appreciated if you took the time to post here what EXACTLY is involved in "It states in our instructions that you need to make sure the flanges on the back of the X Pipe are level." From many posts here it is clear that most guys here doing the install have not aligned them and have an issue with one rear muffler slightly lower then the other. Again, Tony....... PLEASE take time to explain here ASAP. Thanks!

246 pages referencing the FI cat back exhaust and no one here has mentioned/explained the alignment process that Tony alluded to in an earlier post with no explanation/instructions. I guess it is fair to assume no one has bothered to align / know specifically how to align and most all have one muffler lower then the other. Can ANYONE explain how to bring things into alignment first, prior to mounting the mufflers?

Tony I couldn't do the alignment but did align the tips few washers were needed for that, do you think from the pics these looks misaligned?

One more thing I need to know that the rear passenger side cover which needs to be remove to wrap the fuel line, doesn't go back right? as I took it off and didn't install it, just cut the aluminum plate little bit behind that.

One last question will it make any difference in sound if I painted the mufflers flat black as here its more of cop magnets resulting in 30 days impound and 900$ fine.

I all depends how much driving you do. Mine took a couple of weeks to tone down a little, I only put in 10 miles a day and it rest on the weekends. lol

It takes a couple hundred miles for the mufflers to really burn in and settle down.

As far as the paint goes, I don't think it will make any noticeable difference in sound... just make sure you sand the metal down real good so that the paint doesn't flake off!

It's pretty simple... just have a buddy hold the X pipe level, then tighten all the bolts down. That should ensure a good fit... granted it shouldn't really be an issue at all. I did the install myself and don't have any fitment issues.

Tony -- would you say that the F.I. RHFC sound similar to the F.I. RTP?

They will not be as deep as the resonated test pipes. I have yet to hear the resonated high flow cats in person. I have shipped every set out. But I am confident that they will sound like high flow cats, just a little bit more tame...

The mufflers will tone down a bit. It takes time for them to settle in. The evap cover you removed from the passenger side DOES NOT go back on the car...

I have installed probably 30+ systems at my shop and every one has left aligned. It is real simple, hold a level on the back of the X Pipe under the rear 3 bolt flanges. Hold it level while a second person tighten downs the exhaust system starting from the front to the back. Then install the rear 2 mufflers sections. When all of the hardware is in they will still have some rotation to them. This is what makes the cans go up and down. As the can rotate inward, it will go up. As the can gets rotated out, it will go down. Once you get the bottom front of the cans level, then shim the tip down if you have to. Most of the time we do not have to add washers to bring a tip down. All of this is in the installation instructions that I send with the CBE...
