have anyone went from Invidia to FI 18" or vice versa?
How's the sound difference?

the price difference between the two is around $500, trying to decide which best fits my need.

I am getting ready to. I am #475 and should be getting mine in the next week or so. I am going from the Invidia to the FI 18". I haven't been able to find anyone to really give a comparison but I let you know in a few weeks.

I'm #480, so just a week or so after you!

Received by FI in the mail on Friday and installed yesterday. I will link to a new post with review and video comparing OEM and FI + 18" resonators. I'm very, very pleased thus far. I think my car sounds like a BPU Supra sans turbo noise now.

Made some good progress on the jigs on Saturday. Still not completed though! I will try to have an update later this week.

I ask that you 3" guys continue to do exactly what you are doing, which is staying patient! It is greatly appreciated and will pay off more than you know. I hope that in under three weeks from now I can have all of your systems done and on their way to you!

Thanks, Tony

oh boy 3 weeks?.. I was under the impression we were a week behind and that it was going to ship this week or the next :( .. oh well, need to cancel reservations for Nismo Fiesta, darn it!

TerribleONE 03-19-2012 01:23 PM

didnt you have some other complications that were holding you back on that as well ron? Tony does that include mine? ;)

Three weeks to hopefully have all 4 of the GTM compatible 3" systems in the mail. Your system is the first and is almost done. It would be completely done if you did not put a wrench in my program with these extended tips! I will give this back half to #2. I need to finish the rear jigs and then build your back half in them. Once it is confirmed that it fits, it will be in the mail to you. Hopefully your system will be in the mail sometime next week!

Hopefully that clears it up for you and you do not need to cancel your reservations.

Thanks, Tony

You did? My apologies if I missed you or something because I do not recognize your screen name on my build list. Let me know if there is a screw up on my end...

Thanks, Tony

Darn! I was hoping to have it earlier as well.

It is what it is and I know it'll be well worth the wait.

I might just have to bolt up the stock exhaust for a few weeks. That would be a sleeper and a half. :D

So the Greddy compatible 3" TDXs will be constructed after the GTM ones?

Hope I am not throwing more wrenches in the program, but were you planning on doing the same on mine, Tony? I'd like the tips to sit as best as possible on my Nismo, too!

Thank you, sir! :tiphat:

Oh Noez! Looks like I need to give Tony a call.........:shakes head:

XwChriswX 03-19-2012 09:43 PM

Tony, with production ramping up for the 3" exhaust, have you been able to get some pics/videos yet of it? Just wondering if you're close to making the 3" Release thread. If you need some help with the building of it, let me know and I can type it up while you're doing the building.

That way we can keep this thread open for 2.5" orders/inquiries... Just a thought brotha. :tiphat:

Who on here has the non-resonated exhaust with stock cats? I'm thinking about going that route but haven't been able to hear one in person to decide for myself.

For anyone who could shed any light, as long as you keep it under 3K rpm is the non-resonated tame enough to drive around in a residential neighborhood without getting glares?

Non resonated with stock cats sounds the best to me! Do not get me wrong, I love our other options but in terms of just sound, that has my vote.

Call me directly if you have any questions.

Thanks, Tony

Sorry to thread jack, but i've asked in other threads with no answer....

Does the fast intentions catback work/fit with the varis rear diffuser?

Thanks for any help.

Seeing as how it fits the evo-r type diffusers with the use of some washers on the hangers, you should be okay.

i'm running non-res CBE and non-res test pipes and i dont get too many glares with it but it definitely turns heads lol

mrcoolguyface 03-20-2012 12:51 PM

I have non res CBE and tps

It's definitely loud... But not too loud. You can drive it tame if you want. It's doable

Did any of you run stock cats at one point with the non-resonated exhaust?

Either way, thanks for the replies. Wanted to know how loud it was when cruising around. If you can drive it tame with TP's then I'm confident I'm fine on stock cats.

FPenvy 03-20-2012 02:25 PM

i drive mine with non-res CBE and TPs to work daily and on the weekends as well and the volume doesnt bother me. actually its my favorite part about my car. after being parked in the garage all winter driving it now that exhaust is like music to my ears. in the past week since pulling it out of the garage i haven't had my radio on once yet. all i need is F.I. lol

I know the feeling. Getting a little anxious for #467 to show up on my door step. Hopefully that's sooner than later.

ZMan8 03-20-2012 07:28 PM

Well I assume both of ours are being built right now...

Mine maybe a day from being built though

roplusbee 03-20-2012 07:29 PM

Agreed................need 3" Greddy compatible version. I'm good though. I still have a couple more months in the zone.........

DarkPath 03-22-2012 12:08 PM

Where in the thread do you view where you are in the build order... Thanks DP

The latest list update is on page 517.

370ZilverZ 03-22-2012 01:26 PM

#464 has been shipped already according to a previous post on this page, so the list on page 517 isn't up to date right now. Although IMO, I'd rather have Tony building the exhausts than updating the list.
