Yes I ran into same issue and yes you can take it off as long as you feel comfortable doing so. Mine has been off for months and its fine.

yea i just wasnt sure what the wires in that area were for. as long as its not fuel lines then i should be fine. i have about a finger gap between the wires and muffler.

I had to take mine off for my exhaust too. I think it was just 3 bolts to secure it. Been running just fine so far for about a month.

That so called black box which you guys are sure is not a fuel component is actually the evap canister... for managing evaporated fuel...

That said, unless you're FI, you probably don't need to reconstruct the shield for it.

What version Greddy are you referring to, did your kit not come with an EVAP relocation kit?

I have the greedy ti-c. Bought it from a member here and it didn't come with an evap relocation kit.

Have a shop fab you up a simple plate to relocate the Evap to where the heat shield is in the middle of the exhaust

Your other option is trying to order it directly from Greddy but they might not be able to find one for you

hey thanks for the suggestion. do i really need a shield there?

i might be changing out the exhaust so the shield might go back on.

Totally not necessary if you're not using the OEM exhaust, I removed mine years ago!
