Phil, this is with ART pipes |

Duals give a higher pitch....just like my single dual comparo video! Side by side duals would drown out a single somewhat! Quote:
MOAR KHOI If possible with the Camera in the air to catch it better...sounds great none the less :tiphat: |
hahaha screw ART pipes, they're for old people! (I think they're beautiful but uh not for me)
I will have non-res test pipes and this catback and I am so excite! it will be GLORIOUS. |
|
I went out yesterday and took some drive by videos with my iPhone, I'll put them all together into one video later today, but for now here's my favorite clip :) Mods are in the sig.

Over the weekend I slapped the OE muffler back on in an attempt to quiet down the noise produced. It did, and quite a bit. The only issue now is that instead of hearing engine noise along with the rasp, you pretty much heard ONLY rasp. A lot of power also seemed to go missing, although it was definitely still kicking quite a bit. Had to give a good spanking for how many times the rear kept stepping out of line. So, back to short tails, until catback or resonated test pipes. Khoi, push those resonated test pipes through! Only a few people make them, and that's excluding the ART pipes. |

needs a good resonator to absorb some of that rasp then that set up will sound amazing :D

Khoi I need you to find my perfect sound for an exhaust.
You see, I love the short tails. But I need more power. And I know that the more i open it up, the louder itll get. I think my tails are almost too loud at times in the cabin and I would like to know what you would recommend to change that? My thoughts are, HFC-SHORT TAILS Resonated Test Pipes-Short Tails AAM H Pipe-Short Tails What does everyone think? I want to get test pipes but worried itll be too loud for my everyday driving. |

HFC's will keep the volume increase at a minimum. If AAM's H pipe is highly resonated or comes in an option to be highly resonated, that will still be loud, but not AS loud. More or less if you want it quiet you're gonna have to slap on resonators, or get a catback that is known to be quiet but give gains. |

short tail owners, looking for more power, but quieting the exhaust. Now a possible goal would be to make it "just" as loud, but I'm almost positive opening up the exhaust no matter how resonated it is, will be louder. Again because with the short tails you've lost your only source of sound deadning. Inline mufflers in the midpipe may help with volume, but resonators no matter how long they are will not bring the volume down to balance off the added volume with the bigger piping. adding HFC's will add volume for sure and some power gains. If you don't have a CAI already, I would suggest that to squeeze a few hp's out. |
KHOI!! go hop into the OG thread i got exhaust questions for you but dont want to clutter up this thread lol

This was one of the first start ups, seeing I did it myself, I forgot to button of a few breather hoses... actually coming from test pipes there is no difference in idle...only after 3-4k then it's a completely different animal... |
I just wanted to share a video from a guy who liked the noise of my Z when she was still alive ! *RIP Megan*
