Stillen Exhaust tips just the same as original ?

HI guys....This is my first post - as I am soon to be the owner of a new 370Z inc Sport Package. I take delivery in a couple of days. I had the opportunity to test drive the Nismo for few hours -one of the first here in the Great White North. I loved the car - dealer was motivated to move it....could not get past that rear deck spoiler. Amongst a lot of other things..The exhaust tone was sweet (Nismo) and added that bonus of extra HP. So as an alternative, I'm working a deal to upgrade the standard exhaust on the car I have ordered and was leaning towards the Nismo kit. Price was pretty steep and delivery - TBA. None in stock special order money up front did not help. The alternative offered was the Stillen. Now I've spent a lot of time searching the forums and it seems a good choice. Extra HP ( most important ) with a bonus for me of not being overly loud. I currently drive a G35 coupe but not that crazy on the fart can resonance that car produces.

So - First question - good choice going with Stillen ? Any thing I should be aware of like once driving the car will the exhaust sound be resonating at some low frequency my hearing will be gone ?

Second question - Do the exhaust tips line up with the rear bumper just like stock ? do they extend out the back more than stock ? If they do can that be adjusted ? I can't find any pictures of the exhaust tips from the sides - only straight on from the back.

Last question - do the mufflers hang any lower ( from behind ) than stock ? do you see those big stainless steel cans when following behind a Z with Stillen exhaust ?

(1) There are a bunch of exhaust options in the market now. I would research more. Perhaps you may save a few hundred dollars
just check out the exhaust thread. Also check the private classified ad.

I have the Stillen catback.

It sounds great without being childish or annoying. It only gets loud above 4k RPM. Yes, you can hear it while cruising under 4k RPM, but it's not intrusive. I like that the exhaust sits up high for ground clearance, and I like that the tips look like larger versions of OEM.

The tips stick out further than stock, yes. I am not aware of any way to adjust it. Personally I like the way it looks, but I understand that some people want them to sit flush with the bumper cutouts. In the pic that Gunzero posted, look at the driver's side exhaust tip. You can see that it sticks out, but not much.

The tips are big, which looks good, and I like that I can get my boar's hair wheel brush in there to clean them out when I wash the car!

I personally would advise the fast intentions CBE but opinions are different.

The stillen tips don't look like stock at all. They are round and flush cut while oem tips are oval and angle cut. For a stock look you need the Berk cbe. I've had the stillen exhaust for over 12,000 mi and it's great. Even with high flow cats there is never any drone or resonance. My only complaint is stillen used cheaper stainless steel on the tubing which gets surface rust. The muffler, tips, and resonators are higher quality stainless and look perfect still. Not a big deal, but other aftermarket exhausts are made completely from the higher grade stainless. Stillen claims it'll never perforate and has a lifetime warranty if it does. So I'm still safe.

The tips can be made flush with the rear bumper at the top of the tip if you push the muffler as far forward as possible before tightening the slip joints. The flush cut means the lower tip will always stick out a little. I don't mind this at all. I can try to post a pic later.

I love the sound of my Stillen CBE. I once turned up the stereo to overcome the stock exhaust. Now I often turn off the music just to hear the low note sound. It looks bigger than stock exhaust tips. I don't think it hangs down, and if it does, insignificantly. It certainly does not drag and scrape.

Stillen has sales too. I got a free Stillen CAI with mine.

i just ordered F.I CBE 18" resonators ,i researched the exact thing,i wanted an exhaust that retained the z lines and dident extend past the bumper,fast intention is a good option,id recommend looking into it
