AAM Competition 2.5" True Dual Exhaust

I was asked to post this here. It's a bit long and mostly contains interior sounds (which sound louder here than in real life, depending on your speaker setup).

I had the 2.5" True Dual Exhaust installed yesterday. Here's a video of interior sounds and exterior.

This car is stock except for this exhaust. I'm still running the stock cats as well.

If the interior gets boring, you can go to 3:15 for the exterior. I wish I had more exterior sounds, but it started friggn raining again!:

Thanks for taking the time to get the video!

Sounds sick man. Best sounding one I've seen yet. Might be too aggressive for some, but to me...its music to my ears :)

More options is a good thing :)

edit:

I heard it in person at the AAM meet I went to last weekend on Clint's car (I think it was Clint), and for some reason I don't remember it sounding this good :)

Yeah that white one. It sounded a bit different to me too on the white one. It's supposedly the same. ;-)

That driveby was sweet! Sounds great!

Oh, and ya gotta love the weather we're having around here, huh? Beautiful when you wake up and outta no where comes the rain. And the rain likes to hang around and stop just long enough that you think it's safe to go outside and the sky opens up on ya!

m4a1mustang 06-20-2009 03:13 PM

Wow that sounds sweet.

LiquidZ 06-20-2009 04:56 PM

It sounds good. Any reason why you went with an exhaust without a cross-over pipe?

No reason other than I'm a newbie! ;-)

Solus 06-20-2009 05:41 PM

price?

ZCarMan 06-20-2009 06:03 PM

toohip, thanks for taking the time to make the video, which by the way was a great job. It really helps to have something to hear and see for mods. I too would like to know what the total price for installation was. Again, thanks!

Solus 06-20-2009 06:07 PM

I am also curious, I found it on their site says $1295 but also has a TT kit listed that they say is for the 370z as well for $10,495 does that include install and is that accurate that it is for the 370?

The kit says "install only". So I'm assuming its for the entire install.

tooohip 06-20-2009 07:08 PM

Out the door was 1400 or so for this one, including install.

Phimosis 06-20-2009 09:36 PM

Sweeeet! I would have to hear it in person, but I think it sounds better than my Stillen exhaust.

PrimarySting 06-20-2009 10:46 PM

Just the sound I am looking for and it looks like there are even slanted tips! Thanks for posting the video!

alexanderb 06-21-2009 01:40 AM

Great vid. Really nice sound. :yum:

genki370z 06-21-2009 01:56 AM

haha i dunno which one is more music to my ears< the exhaust itself or him burping....classic:rofl2:

Argos 06-21-2009 11:37 AM

awesome sound , what website r u guys going on to chk out the product ?

spearfish25 06-21-2009 01:22 PM

This just went pretty high on my list. Sounds like the Berk CBE prototype which I loved. Now we just need dyno results.

Me too. Looks like their site is broke.

Not to loud on the inside, you can hear the burp and the turn signals working.

ENT-Z 06-21-2009 06:08 PM

I think I like this one the best so far! Maybe lack of cross pipe is what does it for me, I'm a fan of the old muscle car sound with the aggressive cam idle.

370NUTZ 06-21-2009 06:11 PM

SICK, super aggressive...maybe a little much with some HFC's, test pipes might make you deaf!

wstar 06-21-2009 10:16 PM

website still broken

Hrmm the link works for me...odd.

Jon@Altered 06-22-2009 09:02 AM

Sounds great Lance! I got some photos of you car I took on Friday! I'll try my best to have them up today!

And regarding the website, we've contacted our hosting company about the problems getting to our homepage, so hopefully they can have this issue resolved very soon!

Thanks for all the comments guys!

looks like there was a problem with their shopping cart yesterday. works now though.

dawankler 06-22-2009 10:51 AM

Any idea of gains from this exhaust? The Stillen sound has been my favorite so far, but I think I might like this one better.

I'll have to drive over to Columbia some time and hear this in person.

wstar 06-22-2009 01:10 PM

Well the site works now, but still no pics of the AAM exhaust there. Any specs on the thing released, such as weight, or design (are the sides completely isolated, or X/H-pipe, or Y'd like Stillen? Flex joints up front, or solid all the way?). And yeah, dyno would be great too :)

Not sure if this helps, but here is the same exhaust on a 350z with a bunch of pictures. I'm assuming the layout should be rather close between the two models.

It looks like the sides are completely isolated and it saved 6 lbs on the 350.

Hmm I see a pair of flex joints in that one too :)

tooohip 06-22-2009 11:18 PM

They claim 12-16 HP with this exhaust. I'm not sure I feel that small of a gain though, but I sure do enjoy the sound. ;-)

MightyBobo 06-22-2009 11:37 PM

Wow, that sounds nice. I didnt think there'd be any other exhausts that might interest me other than the Stillen one! I like the slashed tips, too.

import111 06-23-2009 12:13 AM

Can we find out how much the AAM exhaust for the 370Z weighs? The shipping weight is 5 lbs. less than the Stillen weight...but that could be the way things are packed, packing material, ect.

zZSportZz 06-24-2009 12:59 PM

LOL...Tooohip posted a thread like this on the "other" Z site and it took about 5 seconds of all the haters to come out of the woodworks. It makes me appreciate this site more and more every day. Its no wonder there are NO 370z posters over there.

semtex 06-24-2009 01:22 PM

^ What's there to hate on? I don't get it -- it's not like that other site makes their own exhaust or something. Have they all sworn allegiance to one particular brand or something?

zZSportZz 06-24-2009 01:25 PM

^ Not sure...but anything 370 related seems to get flamed.
