Actually the cf does sound a bit different. Hard to describe, but definitely a slightly different tone. Exotic has been used to describe it before and it as accurate as any term. I love it.

It hisses even with stock exhaust It's just not that audible. The less restriction the more pronounced the hiss. I can hear it hiss with stock cats and my fi cbe. Its not loud but it's there. Hfc or tp you will hear hiss from far away. No way around it.

my full non-res setup you can really hear the hiss but i dont mind it. sadly i get alot of people thinking it's boosted and thats the BOVs making the sound :shakes head:

Why the :shakes head: ?? This is awesome.

I love it because anytime some eclipse or civic comes up next to me acting like a jackass, I just let it hiss for a bit, and they quickly slow down :stirthepot:

F.I. ftw

Think about it... :icon08:

??

I don't hear a hiss at all with non-resonated HFCs 18" resonators on the cans. I will say that cabin noise is now "beyond comfortable" and I'm ordering some more GTmat stuff to coat the interior to compensate. Girlfriend wore earplugs to/from a Christmas party on Sat night to passive-aggressively voice her displeasure.

My situation may be exacerbated since I ditched my spare and there's a big hollow space in the rear of the vehicle.

That's odd... :icon14:

Some people just don't like to hear/feel the power of their vehicles I guess... :ugh2:

I've seen this comment several times now and I honestly do not agree that there's any difference in sound at all. I have heard both setups up-close with HFCs installed and cannot tell between the two. The CF cans look great, don't get me wrong - I just don't hear a distinctive difference between the exhausts.

Doesn't bother me at all except in low-range 4th gear at below optimal speeds. I love the noise it makes

oh i got it right away lol i cant stand those or affliction shirts.....or the people who wear them.

back to the exhaust lol i can see why the hiss would get old to some people but honestly i personally like it. and with the volume and pure rawness of my non-res setup it still makes me smile when i start it up ....1 year and 13500 miles later

....and 1 re-weld of the hanger by the one muffler :ugh2:

dmhenderson 12-10-2012 01:36 PM

Yeah the startup/downshifting noise is really worth the price of admission.
