quick question for others - any feedback on others experiences with FI test pipes/LTH/HFC's in combination with their FI exhaust? i'm looking for things along the lines of eg: "got HFC's wish i got headers" or "got test pipes, but wish i got HFC's because of the smell", or "got headers but i feel like it's a little loud for daily driving"

I'm looking to pair it with the FI 18" SS setup and I've debated the HFC/TEST PIPE/LTH question for soooo long now so hopefully others can chime to make me finally make a decision!

Please give me a call here at the shop and we can discuss these options in greater detail.

Thank you, Blake

Have you guys had both FI and Berk hfcs paired with F.I. catback thus made that conclusion?

Keep in mind, FI HFC's are 300 cell, and Berks are 200 cell. The 300 cell cat will dampen the noise level more then the Berks will.

Also keep in mind that Berks have a terrible rep for rasp & burning out, and smelling like rotten eggs. Just my .02

If you're truly looking for more sound then the 300 cell Fast Intentions cats, you can do a 12" resonator or even a Resonator delete on the catback....or do Fast Intentions Resonated TP's(will also gain about 5 more hp over the cats)

Just ordered my FI Non resonated CBE. Havent gotten my invoice yet so I don't know where I stand with the build order but I know the wait is at least 16 weeks. I know it will be worth it so I am not worried about that.

Does anyone know of a good place to get this system installed in Charlotte, NC?

My Z is a 2009 with very low mileage and I want a reliable place that does excellent work.

Thanks guys. Really appreciate all the feedback. Really helped me pull the trigger on this system. Can't Wait!!!

Blake@FI (or any FI guys)

I have a local basically giving away his traditional G37 FI exhaust. Is there any way of making this work on a 370? Mounts the same? Shorten the mid pipe?

Was just thinking it would be cool if fast intentions had a twitter account that you uploaded shop pictures of fabrication or anything else that might be interesting.:ugh2:

We actually do have an Instagram account that we try to keep updated however it has been tough with how busy we are lately. A twitter account is also not a bad idea!

You have to cut the midpipe and shorten it by 3"

CIN Motorsports is a pretty reputable G/Z shop in Charlotte. They do good work.

I am semi-unfamiliar with modding the Z but would you think there is a distinct "tangible" difference due to the slight gain from TP vs HFC? My gut is saying there probably isn't. I'm also reading mixed reviews on TP's - is it true that TP's will put the back end of the car more liable for soot (eg: getting the bumper dirtier, quicker)?

Headers just seem like a nightmare for me in terms of finding a reputable place i could trust for such a difficult looking install. I am already worried about trusting a shop to install HFC/TP's.

Again, i super appreciate all the advice so far guys!

On a 300hp+ car, the +/-5hp difference you'll see between TP's and HFC's will be hard to notice anywhere else than a dyno. Any butt dyno gains you feel will be psychosomatic.

With a regular cleaning schedule (as any sports car owner should already have), your rear bumper will not suffer any increase in dirtiness from TP's over HFC's. Especially due to the fact the FI tips stick out ever so slightly past the rear bumper. Also, a good wipe down with Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish will keep the tips themselves clean. If your engine is producing that much carbon, you should take it somewhere and have the tune looked at.

As for the header install, it is not for the faint of heart, but it is (and has been) done DIY, so it's not impossible. A TP/HFC install is easier to do in your driveway, provided lifting ability and the right amount of extensions.
