^^^ InsanO -- Congrats on your purchase. I have mine for about 2.5 months now and it's great. Just love the exhaust. You'll be breaking necks down under and will be very exclusive. If you can, pair it with HFCs and it's gold! Let us know what you think.

I remember getting a thumbs up from a beer truck driver as I was turning onto the main road after my exhaust was installed at Tony's shop. I do not recall a day when no one turned heads. The sound is just that impressive and coming from a Z does not hurt either.

Not sure the exact nature of the delay but I think it had something to do with Customs wanting to see an itemized list of what was in the box (i.e. lead pipe, muffler etc.) I managed to catch Tony in the office late that night and he sorted it out directly with them.

Thanks again for your help the other day (night) Tony. Hopefully this was just a once-off and not a sign of things to come! Will let you know if I've got any queries during/post-install, otherwise I'm sure I'll be in touch when I decide its time for HFCs/intakes :P

Wow that's just crazy, when I type in things for customs it just has to say whats in the box, nothing more. And since you just had the exhause, that should be one item alone unless you had headers or HFC's. I guess they could get picky then but sheesh, it clearly made it outa the USA just fine.

For the last several weeks I've been reading the threads on the FI exhaust. A couple of questions come to my mind , curious if most people are having them installed or doing it themselves?
I can see the benefit of a lift but I don't know if I trust a chain muffler shop like Midas doing the install on my new "Z".

Also wondering about the labor cost of the installation?
I would appreciate any feedback and maybe a vote of confidence in a place like Midas or suggestions.

A CBE is something that can be done with relative ease...

I would not trust a shop that is not a tuner shop to do work on it.

Get jack stands and a jack and put it up. It can be done with ease.

I'm lucky to have access to a lift :-)

I wouldn't dare take it to a Mineke or Midas to have the work done, but a Custom/Performance auto shop can.

If you're only installing the CBE, then save the money and do it yourself in the driveway. If you're looking to install HFC's/TP's/Headers and are not very well stocked in tools, or don't have a high mechanical ability, I would leave it to the shop for the peace of mind.

I did my LTH's and the rest of my exhaust myself. Using jack stands lifting the Z up about 18" off the ground.

FI Exhaust Review

FI Cat back no resonators:

Pros:
- Packing was impeckable
- My mechanic said and I quote: "wow they even grind down the welds"
- Attention to detail was impressive
- Installation went smooth with exception of a rusted bolt on the car snapped off
- No adjustment required...went on perfect the first time.
- Sounds DEEEEEPPP and menacing!
- More power across the board but mostly felt in upper RPM's

Cons:
- Are there any? I wish it was a little bit louder but I dont think thats really a con. I just need Momentum headers and resonated CAT delete pipes.

On to the good stuff then...
