To me the MotorDyne Shockwave & Meisterschaft kind of almost go hand in hand in sound wise a bit. I'm not sure what the MotorDyne Shockwave FCBE would cost compared to the Meisterschaft. The only thing I would think would be ear piercing is to redline in every gear at every stop light & stop sign. Now that would drive you effen nuts. If you shift b/w 3-4k rpms you will be perfectly fine & w/o a headache.

The MotorDyne Shockwave V2 TDX exhaust sounds clean, but I believe the MotorDyne are a lot more common with the Z & G than the Meisterschaft. IMHO I would have to lean toward Meisterschaft b/c not everybody has it & the sound is sweet a** sweet. As stated up-above Meisterschaft is Meisterschaft & GTHAUS makes some kick a** high quality products.

What helped me decide on my exhaust was also hearing the GTR with the Meisterschaft exhaust. Supposedly the Z is a little bit louder if you have the FCBE. I believe Meisterschaft biggest competitor would be Kreissieg F-1 System, but the Kreissieg F-1 System are way over priced for what you are getting.

FYI....... Mr&Mrs you ride & set-up is sweet looking & sounding big guy.

edub370 05-31-2012 01:34 PM

Do they even make the Kreissieg F-1 System for the 370z?

No..... The only Nissan is the GTR unfortunately. The sad part about Kreissieg F-1 System for the GTR is that it will be a good 3k maybe 4k more than the Meisterchaft exhaust. As stated earlier the Kreissieg F-1 System is nice & sounds bad a**, but it is way over priced. The Kreissieg F-1 System is usual double the price of the Meisterschaft set-up & Kreissieg is very proud of their stuff.

Based in rasp alone, i would say the Meisterchaft would *sound* louder than the MD, once you get up there, it will be harsher to the ear in comparison.

Really you will be shifting at 3k maybe 4k rpms. I seriously doubt one would want to redline every gear at every stop sign & stop light. You do have to agree that it is a very unique sounding note.

Going up through the gears that might be the case but downshifting and SRM = loud. I can be quiet (relatively speaking) going up through the gears but downshifting with SRM on forget it.

+1 on being a baller with the Meisterchaft exhaust.

MaDMaXX 05-31-2012 08:58 PM

I meant it has a generally harsher note, we're talking relatively here :)

That and it certainly does rasp unfortunately, however, it's one of the better rasps i've heard.

I'd chose the MD purely based on the smoother note, but i do like this one too. The MD is still not so common as it's one of the higher priced systems, and i'd like to think i'm supporting home grown talent and engineering by buying American.

Thnxs big guy...... You just made me blush... I mean smile....hehehehe. Oh I will say this about the SRM & downshifting that it is pretty sweet. When downshifting & depending on the rpms you can get a very nice sound (assuming nothing crazy like 4K & under) & hear a good pop noise from the exhaust.

I realize our Z's are pretty clean looking, but I had this weird a** guy in a Benz C63 AMG this morning that turned into my direction. The next thing I hear is a couple revs & this AMG passes me & he revs a couple more times. So what is up with that exactly? I'm thinking maybe his way of giving me props for my ride, or kind of wanted to race. I'm not stupid by any means & I know the AMG would spank the sh*t out of me, but I would definitely give the AMG a run for its money on the track.

I think people in general overreact to this and immediately assume they person is trying to race. I think half the time they're just trying to get you to jump on the throttle for a second to be able to hear the exhaust.

At first I was like this guy cannot be this dumb to want to race, but then I thought maybe giving me some props. I see where you coming from now & agree about possibly wanting to hear the exhaust. Thnxs. :tiphat:

You should be a sales person for Meis. 98% of Z drivers would have it on their car lmao. I have some videos of the full system with BERK HFC's on my G37 if anyone wants to hear it. I was thinking of swapping the cats out for OEM OR swapping the mid pipe out for the OEM also. I need to quiet it down a bit. Still contemplating though. Its very loud and free flowing with everything I have. Theres rasp between like 3200 and 3700 then it goes away and comes back at 5000+RPM when it sounds like a F1 car. Ive made people **** in their pants when I down shifted lol. Lets not even talk about cold starts, you could probably hear me from 5-8 blocks away in the morning.

Thanks

As I mentioned in an earlier post it does have a little RASP at certain RPMS, I notice mine from about 3500 to 4000 only at mid throttle though, low throttle or floored you don't hear it at all it, is hard to explain. I also think mine may be a little more noticeable due to my HFC's which I plan on replacing with ART Pipes.

As far as the videos they do not do any justice, and the clips of the car driving down the street with the walls on both sides make it sound a little bad due to the echo effect. That is why I tell people to watch the end of the second video for the best effect on what it sounds like for people you drive by.

I agree I get more people popping their throttle at me when I am in my SRT-4 because they want to hear that big turbo and blow off valve, not so much wanting to race.

:icon18: I should get a discount, or have the exhaust for free. Please do share the videos with us. I enjoy hearing the clean & sexy exhaust sounds from kick a** cars.

I need to make a mental note of this going forward.
