Yes they do have to be opened up a very small amount
You WILL need revised maf tables which we will provide at no charge
We have a dyno sheet on this thread already on page 2 or 3

lemon-fresh 08-09-2012 04:32 PM

Thanks, does it come with a cable needed to transfer the new maf tables?

AkumaMS 08-09-2012 07:15 PM

I will have Kevin put up the Official thread for the group buy tomorrow..

You will need to have the Osiris tuner to do the MAP upgrade. I will have a amp database up on our website in the near future. For now you will have to email me your ROM info and I will reply with the tuned map.

This will be the official group buy. We will offer the discounted price for the first 15 units. I am thinking we will run this for 2 weeks from today.

So. in summary....

Full mandrel bent 6061 Aluminum.
Nomex Couplers
UpRev Mapping
KN Filters
$400 for the first 15 Units

Thanks guys!!

John

So just to make sure I understand you correctly, these are not Install, soft ECU reset (remove negative battery terminal) and you're alright to go. You will need a tune after install?

Also, is the metal finish going to be brushed or polished, I've seen both listed now...

Huckleberry 08-10-2012 01:29 AM

Brushed and black coated.

Other coated options are 20-30 more.

I hope it is brushed, it will match better than a polished. Just gonna have to wait for installed pics before making the final decision since they're offering PC'ing too.

AkumaMS 08-10-2012 07:31 AM

The intakes will require a tune, which we can provide if you have Up Rev already.

The colors will be polished and gloss black, however changing the polished to brushed is very easy and can be done here before shipping at no charge.

'10Anamoly 08-10-2012 07:49 AM

How much would the price be if we dont need the filters or couplers?

Megan370z 08-10-2012 09:05 AM

if it me or I cant see any actual dyno sheet being posted anywhere in this thread about those intake ?

Really? Were still going on about this.

Stillens are known for around 18hp and maybe 10lb of torque at best with no other boltons...

These guys have posted a dyno sheet with using their intakes on setups with full bolton's pretty much and they are making more power then the stillens.

Just do a little reading up..you dont need comparison dynos just look at the facts and make your own comparison. besides price point is better and it is clearly a much smarter design.

This is borderline trolling.

As is your inability to understand other people have a right to keep a different opinion, and your repeated posts about it.

W.O.W. 370Z 08-12-2012 02:39 PM

Why do you feel the need to keep reposting the same post with your opinion over and over again.

You stated it already but you keep posting it again and again.

A simple PM to the vendor would suffice after your initial voicing of your opinion.

I understand your motives but its starting to look childish.

So I'm trolling and others are not, although they complain about trolling? ok.. :rofl2: Whatever floats your boat.

Kevin@AkumaMS 08-14-2012 08:00 AM

We understand your request for a comparison however we dont have anyone with just a stillen setup in order to do the comparison. As soon as we have the chance we will make it happen

Results are in. Expected little more gain but overall Im happy with Akuma for pleasant service. Butt dyno definitely feels better but I gotta drive little bit more for better impressions. Heres the dyno sheet

Intakes look great installed as well :)

AkumaMS 08-16-2012 08:57 PM

Thanks for the positive review. I was very happy with the results. The baseline was done with the car fully hot and a 'stock' Osirus ROM. Judging by the fuel curve on the Baseline, I think the car still had some learned values acting on fueling and timing... not sure if the stock ROM really changed over....lol The ambient temps were a bit hotter for the intake runs as well...10deg.

No excuses. I am very happy to see 10+ HP gains under the curve. We see consistent TQ gains as well. No 'creative marketing' here. The car was fully warmed up for the baseline. I made sure the HP/TQ numbers were consistent for our final results. These are the real numbers from just the intakes. :)

We will continue to get some real world numbers for everyone. I have a 2 sets going out next week. I am confident we will see very good numbers moving forward in the subsequent independent testing.

Thanks again guys, and I look forward to seeing more kits out in the community very soon!

Cheers,
John

Those gains look solid all the way through the powerband.

Any noted pope movement, or vibration, Just wondering how well these are secured.
