Backed into a curb. Dented both of my mufflers. Here is a pic of the left one which is a bit worse than the right.

What are my options? Is this repairable? Will I need to get replacements mufflers from Tony and have them welded on?

doesn't look all that bad.

You should ask Tony. Post this in the Fast Intentions thread, see if someone can help.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that muffler is toast! If the other side is even close to that than it will need to be replaced as well.

Now from a cost standpoint it is not cost effective to just replace the mufflers. Here is your best two options.

1) Send the rear section to us and I will see if i can just cut the 2 mufflers out and weld new ones in.

2) Purchase a new rear section from us. Option 1 will be slightly less money but this way you will not have any downtime.

Give me a call on Monday and we can go from there.

Thanks, Tony

I think the best option is to stop looking at it. I bet it is functionally fine...

Can you even see it without crawling on the ground? Does it sound any different?

Yeah it's clearly visible from behind but I don't think the sound changed at all

RUFFSTUFF 05-19-2012 10:21 PM

Well then....

Stop.
Looking.
At it.
And drive.

G37Sam 05-20-2012 07:20 AM

LOL I was expecting to see the muffler shattered in pieces. This is nothing man

370Z Purist 05-20-2012 07:45 AM

As long as it is structurally sound and does not leak or cause flow issues, this is only a cosmetic thing... which means you can run it without any problems.

If the looks really bother you, then I guess you just need to lighten your wallet once again.

The corner edge of the mufflers both of mine are pretty bad as well (just 1" section). Ever felt a 4" drop in the parking lot? Yea, that ruined my night.
