Megan Test Pipe

Anyone have any experience with Megan Test Pipes? They are resonated so was wondering about the sound.

Don't have experience with the TP but have the y-pipe. Quality made. As long as you aren't buying the coilovers you should be str8 with a megan exhaust or its components.

I don't like the look of the flex pipe on it, it looks shady. Other then that Megan exhaust components I've never had a problem with on my 02 maxima

No flex pipe: just resonated pipes. If I have the time may try to install them this weekend and see what they can do and sound like.

Yep you are right. I had not taken them out of the box until today to install, only saw a stock picture that the vendor used. There is a flex pipe but the fabrication of the Megan TP looks pretty solid. You can look down inside the tube and see where the flex pipe covers the bends in the pipe. Welds look good and all stainless steel. I will finish the install tomorrow and give them a try. Took me 2 hours to get the bolts off the cats, as is well known they are on tight. One downside is that the TP did not come with bolts for the down side connection to the Y-pipe so gotta go out and buy some tomorrow . Also there is no bracket to support the TP, but I guess since they are lighter than the CATs and they have the flex pipe its is probably fine. Will update when they are on.

cool keep us posted on how they fit as well as sound, a sound clip would be great if you have the chance.

Heard the name, but nothing stood out. Haven't heard anything great about them either.

Megan Test Pipe

Everyone has their own experiences with MEGAN, yeah pretty mixed. Never a problem with products for my IS300. Anyway here is the video. Sound is slightly louder than stock but deeper. Not as loud as the video suggests. A little raspy occasionally when driven. But NOT annoying at all.

sv nismo, I liek teh sound of it. I'm glad you finally got the MEGAN installed.

You camera mic is right in the exhaust gas, all you're hearing is distortion :(

Move it up or to the side or anywhere else.

:tiphat: Good point... I'll try again later.

j23a45m 04-16-2012 08:33 PM

glad you got them all bolted up.
yea many mixed reviews on the Megan brand, as you Ive never had a problem with any of their products on my 97 maxima or 02 nissan maxima.

seymore4 04-17-2012 12:41 AM

can't vouch for the sound but the quality is alright... from my experience exhaust is exhaust, megan is cheap but honestly for straight through test pipes they get the job done for a good price
