Nice, is that a gopro camera with a case on it doing the recording? I need to alter in my head what it sounds like without what sounds like the casing changing the sound.

I can make out how awesome it sounds though, that's got some sweet notes going on there :)

Thanks for the reps and positive comments. I like reading other reviews so I feel that its only fair I do my part :)

Damn good review! In terms of loudness, how does this compare to the Fast Intentions you had? I had the FI exhaust with the 12" resonators. Trying to figure out if this is a lot louder then that or not.

During normal driving, I'd say it is quieter. During WOT, its louder. I did have the 18" resonators though. Its probably somewhere between the FI 12" resonators and no-resonators.

Also interested in some additional comparisons to the FI in terms of sound (I have the 18'' resonators). You said its a bit loud on cold start, how does it compare to your FI cold start? At normal cruising speeds, how loud is it inside the car, and how is the drone at highway speeds compared to FI? I would love to eliminate the hiss my exhaust produces and your write-up has me thinking of a change. Repped for the great review.

The FI-18" on ART pipes was loud on cold start too in my opinion. The E370 is just a bit tad louder for that 1 minute or so until the idle drops. As far as drone, I feel that the E370 has less drone. I used to be able to hear the hissing from in the car, I don't hear that sound yet :D If that changes I'll let you know, but so far I'm hiss-free

That genesis is rocking our GRIP Tecno tip exhaust

Yes he is. If you frequent the gencoupe forum, he's "Zero"

Yes it is the GoPro in the open back casing.

For comparison, here is a video of my FI 18" on stock cats, and FI 18" with ART pipes mounted on the same spot.

Both videos have 2nd gear WOT pulls, so I'll try to get a 2nd gear pull with the E370 tomorrow evening :)

Thanks for answering all our questions. Can't wait to see the 2nd gear pulls!

Wow looks great. Motordyne is top notch in the vq world.

I'd seriously consider that exhaust if I still had the Z!

Haha, even caught a flame on my 1-2 shift :driving:

Staples 03-07-2012 12:17 AM

That's awesome... I remember my friends telling me I was shooting flames when I got on it in-front of them. That was before the car was tuned and I was running a little on the rich side.

NeverBoneStck 03-07-2012 01:07 AM

Nice review ....

Boost_lee 03-07-2012 01:18 AM

Few videos from the rear again on the GoPro. Not much to watch, but worth listening :) I'll also add these to the second post in the thread

Cold Start - 1-2 pull (flame shot at 4:49 :p)- Spirited driving
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-R92CDmote8

3rd gear - SRM downshifting - Zero hiss on decel
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRmgbJIq3Qs

Normal driving - No Hiss!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2Avy2whj2w

Flyby's will be another week or 2, as well as a dyno pull vid.

Staples 03-07-2012 01:24 AM

Sounds really good! I think once you get those fly-by videos it will make a lot of people decide on which exhaust they're going to go with.

Do you feel like you gained anything from this ? Sound , tq or hp ?? My biggest complaint about my FI exhaust was the drone and hiss .. Do you feel like you lost a little low end ?? Been bugging Tony about this exhaust for over a year now and it seems he is getting really close for us G guys . Called him today but he seemed really grumpy .. Nice exhaust ..

I'm sure Tony has a lot on his plate. This is a huge break-through for Motordyne as well as the 370z community, hopefully the 37 scene as well.

I cant tell honestly, but the low end feels a little better if I had to guess.

Drone and hiss - 100% improvement.

I love the sound of this thing.

Sorry about the grumpyness. I wasn't feeling well after a visit to the dentists drill.:icon14:

After doing more work on the G37 I found it will be easier to simply make the midpipe muffler outlet tubes longer. The muffler change does however necessitate making a new jig and new production run for it. It is being worked on now.

On the positive side, this change means any added cost for extensions is eliminated.
