i wonder how it sounds. I really want injen CAI and HKS Exhaust =)

Slidefox 12-01-2008 10:45 AM

It's practically a true-dual.... they should have left that one pipe section in two pieces!!

CrownR426 12-01-2008 11:14 AM

I think I'm switching to a Turbo XS Catback exhaust.

RCZ 12-01-2008 08:04 PM

Custom Straight pipes for me :)

Or at least something thats actually true dual.

the Injen CAI really did struggle on the G37, made good sound but like no Hp gain, the Stillen G3 long-tube Intakes made good power and makes a nice sound

vnarang 12-07-2008 01:05 PM

I wanna know how this sounds too.

Endgame 12-07-2008 07:27 PM

I want.

nogoodname 12-07-2008 10:13 PM

wait til Fast-Intentions makes a Carbon Fiber catback exhaust system, it has such a low pitch grumbling sound !!!!!!!!!!

Endgame 12-07-2008 10:28 PM

carbon fiber.. sounds interesting.. i will be standing by to check that out.

nogoodname 12-07-2008 10:35 PM

the exhaust pipes are all stainless steel and the muffler is made from carbon fiber.

It is a real carbon fiber muffler and not a trim piece on the stainless !!!!

nogoodname 12-07-2008 11:26 PM

check my thread http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...r-exhaust.html

sensi09 12-11-2008 01:02 AM

Did weldina also make the nismo S-tune muffler for the 350Z.

If so, why is it commonly said that the fujitsubo for the 350Z is basically the same as the nismo?

18rgcelica73 12-16-2008 06:53 PM

I still love the look of this nismo exhaust. I would really love to know the performance and sound this system would give the 370z.

xDIEGOx 12-16-2008 07:37 PM

How much $?

18rgcelica73 12-16-2008 08:40 PM

I believe it is 2030 or so dollars, it is on the nismo package if you seach it. Discustingly expensive but very nice none the less.

Minicobra1 01-08-2009 02:10 AM

Any sound clips available yet?

18rgcelica73 01-09-2009 08:36 PM

Well I really like the etched nismo on the tips, I should just get the 370z's etched with nissan :icon17:

Minicobra1 01-31-2009 01:19 AM

Getting the Nismo Exhaust installed tomorrow afternoon, I'll post some pics and a Video sound clip in the exhaust sound clip data base sticky

Ok, it's installed took roughly 1.5 hours at the dealership.

I couldn't find my video camera battery, I will look again tomorrow and hopefully get a sound clip up.

My review:

1. Fit and finish is perfect
2. Sound (A bit disappointing) if your looking for an aggressive sound, this is NOT the exhaust for you. It has a slightly lower tone at Idle and a minimal bump in volume up through the gears, above 5K RPM it is noticeable, but not extreme in anyway. I would say that if I gave a friend a ride in my car, that had been in it previously, they would not notice the difference. :-(
This would be a good exhaust for someone who is looking for a slight bump in sound from stock. Probably similar to the HKS Legamax
3. HP Gain: It's hard to say, I want to say that it made a difference, but honestly can't say that it is really noticeable, it feels a little more responsive, but I doubt that any one would be able to feel a 10-12hp increase on a car that already has 332hp. Maybe on a lower hp car.

Now, it is brand new, so maybe the sound will get louder after a few miles, once the packing starts to break in or burn off, whatever it does
I'm curious to any 350z owners thoughts on this, did your overall tone or volume increase after a few thousand miles??

My next mod will most likely be an intake and some hi-flow cats/ test pipes, I'm sure this will change the tone significantly.

I'll post some sound clips as soon as I can

Braden - thanks for the write up. Sorry to hear that you were disappointed with sound but I believe some systems need time to break-in

Quick ? - how much bigger is the Nismo tip compare to stock?

My old pipes are at the dealer since they wouldn't fit in the Z, I didn't measure before they went on.

Nismos are 4 1/2 outer diameter, 4 1/4 inner. I would say the stock ones were probably 3 1/2.

If it's anything like the 350 nismo exhaust, it will definitely get louder with time. Looks nice from the rear though, can I ask how much the dealer charged you for the exhaust?

18rgcelica73 02-01-2009 07:27 PM

Dyno that baby. I would love this exhaust but I want to know the numbers of power gain before I go and get it.

Endgame 02-01-2009 08:15 PM

Weight as compared to the stock???

$1400+ Tax, and $150 to install. Most dealers should match that.

Well, I drove about 150 miles today, and the tone is improving a bit, it seams to be getting a little deeper. I ended my day with a large screw embedded in my rear tire, $30 later at the Good Year dealer and I was off again.

Minicobra1 02-01-2009 10:34 PM

Ok, here is video as promised, this was before I put some miles on it, like I said in previous post, the tone seams to have gotten deeper. I'll post up a fly by later on. Don't laugh at me running to the car, my battery was flashing on the camera and I didin't know where the charger was, so I had to hurry. :rofl2:

send some rep points

Cool deal. Thanks man!

TerribleONE 02-01-2009 10:54 PM

thanks for the review and video.. it looks a hell of a lot better than stock. thats forsure

par4bmw 02-01-2009 10:57 PM

Thanks man for posting the clip. Cool that the sound is already deepening for you as it gets broken in. Looks killer!

Yeah, I think once I get the other mods on there such as hi-flow cats, headers, intake, etc. it will make a considerable difference in the sound, will probably be just right

MC 02-02-2009 01:38 AM

yeah the cats will make all the difference

TerribleONE 02-02-2009 02:27 AM

i hope some cheaper header options come out... it was like a 1500$ to do headers on the G37... installation is far from easy.

Jungle Prop 02-02-2009 03:25 PM

That sounds pretty sweet. I'm looking for a little more than the stock sound and this might be it. Looks alot better also. Thanks for the report.

Endgame 02-03-2009 10:38 PM

All I need to know now is the sound with the Berk HFCs with the Nismo. I hope it is not too loud...
