Lots of people have this system but i havent seen one dyno chart over the last 3 years. Im guessing its going to be 15-20 extra

I think you're right. The FI and GTHaus put out about the same in terms of power increase.

ZKraken22 03-04-2012 09:29 PM

how much you it be to add titanium tips? like custom

Pauliewall 03-13-2012 04:23 PM

Just about a month and still no dyno charts?? :shakes head::shakes head::shakes head:

NYBladeZ 03-13-2012 06:03 PM

GT Haus, get to work! Get some dyno charts!

paoZ 03-14-2012 06:29 PM

Can you pm me all prices..

bigsix 03-15-2012 05:31 AM

I've watched the Black Nismo video countless times on youtube, but never saw the M5 before... that sound has got to be one of the Most Epic i've ever heard.
Better than AMG's stock exhaust for their 6.2 liter models

kromwell 03-18-2012 07:55 AM

+1 for some dyno charts please :-)

still no dyno chart? unbelievable

brucewayne 03-23-2012 06:11 PM

There is no doubt in my mind that exhaust has excellent quality and high appeal but when it comes to performance, I'm starting to doubt its worth. I would love to hear from GT Haus or exhaust owners.

Gauge 03-27-2012 01:30 PM

Well I'm buying this system off another premium meber here NYBladeZ. Since I"m buying it and he is giving me a great deal, I'm going to use the extra money I had set aside to get a decibel meter so you can know what the decibel level is at in different RPM ranges. I'm also going to get a dynco chart with stock Nismo and with it on so everyone here can have some peace of mind.

This is all assuming the deal goes through. He says he is going to sell to me, but you know how it goes sometimes, things happen. Just giving a heads up.

NYBladeZ 03-27-2012 01:35 PM

^^ there's an app for that, assuming it doesn't disintergrate, fall to pieces or have some horrible damage that I can't even imagine its all yours dude.

brucewayne 03-27-2012 03:47 PM

Alright...I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Gauge 04-06-2012 10:50 AM

Just a heads up, looks like I'll be getting the system sometime next week (having it in my physical posession).

The money necessary to get a dyno, then put the exhaust on and get it dyno tuned is a bit much for a few horse power. So it may come to pass that I just put it on and dyno tune it without a baseline. I'm assuming we can use an average of stock nismo baselines to get a good idea of what is normal for stock nismo and sort of get a good estimate of what the gains are from there.

I'm going to talk to the tuning shop that I'm going to do it at next weekend, maybe they will cut me a deal or something, but if they don't I'm just going to slap it on and do the one dyno tuning session. So I apologize in advance if I choose not to get a baseline, but hey, at least someone is doing something right?

I still plan on doing the decibel levels at different RPM ranges, that should cost me all of 30 bucks at radio shack.

MaDMaXX 04-06-2012 03:10 PM

Totally in for the vids :)

I'm borrowing my sister in laws iphone for a comparative db check, should cost me nothing ;)

Gauge 04-17-2012 09:22 AM

Anyone who has installed this, have you run into problems with it touching anywhere? I got a rattle and I'm trying to gather information before I get under the car.

NYBladeZ 04-17-2012 09:36 AM

might have a loose connection, check all hangers and bolts, never had a rattle before...

Gauge 04-17-2012 09:49 AM

I used my nismo gaskets except for the large 3in pipe in the middle. SO I'm wondering if that was a bad idea. But yeah I'm going to check them tonight. It was fine the first day I drove it, maybe the bolts just came loose up front. I was actually very impressed with the quality of the exhaust and how well it fit. The engineering in this thing is amazing. Would survive a nuclear blast with those welds.

NYBladeZ 04-17-2012 10:28 AM

it was engineered so that it would work with stock pipes and have OEM fitament, no severe scrapping issues. I miss it man but I'm happy you're having fun with it.

MaDMaXX 04-17-2012 08:21 PM

Have you checked the evap canister at the rear? i hear the guard needs removing for most exhausts.

Gauge 04-18-2012 08:03 PM

It turned out to be a stripped bolt in the mid pipe and two of the rear hangers were loose. All tightened up good and sounding like a beast again.

MaDMaXX 04-18-2012 08:27 PM

Yeah, vid/pics or it never happened ;)

Good that you found the problem though.

UPDATE: I"m very sorry for not updating you guys. Some stuff came up and I havn't had the money to spend on this. I still plan on doing it, I PROMISE, but it might not be until next month. I'll keep you guys posted.

To clarify, I'm not going to do a stock tune, you can get an average from other people of what the nismo is like stock. I will be doing a tun of the cat back + 93 octane. The 93 will of course throw the reading off unless you can find some charts of stock +93 around to get a good idea.

As far as the decibel thing goes, I think it's completely unecessary. This exhaust can clearly stay under decibel laws if you drive normally and don't rip. Shift in the 2.5-3k range and you won't get pulled over. It really only starts getting loud after 3k. After 4-5k and the entire county will know where you are lol.

Also what does SMFK stand for.

I'll try to beg my wife to let me go get a tune this weekend.

+1....... :iagree: I have said this countless times to where I was a broken record & so have others. Normal driving shifts might go to maybe 4k, but usually 2.5-3.5k rpms. If you want to be heard & seen, then go past 4k & beyond.

Gauge 06-06-2012 08:59 AM

UPDATE:

So I called my local tuning place. They would need me to cover the cost of renting a dyno and purchase an uprev license.

Is this common? If the price adds up too much I'll have to look around to more places that have a dyno. But if I can't find one then I might not get charts for just this part.

Kinda sucks really, I wanted to do this for you guys.

370Z Purist 06-06-2012 09:14 AM

Seeing as you're probably the only person willing to go out and get the forum some proper numbers, it's appreciated. This sort of thing should have been done by the vendor, who has pretty much disappeared off the face of the planet.

Meisterschaft Cat Back

For fun :)

vividracing 07-30-2012 12:35 PM

Love it.
If I had a local guy buy one of these, we could do a before and after dyno for nothing.

The license cost is what's keeping me from doing it. It's just not worth it for the exhaust alone. It's more prudent to wait till I get CIA and testpipes before doing the tune + license.

chii370 05-14-2013 03:43 PM

was kinda looking fwd to this exhaust..... but after listening to the vids, imo it sounds horrid. yeah, loud. DECENT at idle but dear god it sounds annoying as hell when it screams. i instantly pictured a honda civic with a cherry bomb "yes i know its a company" fart can from autozone doing a high RPM flyby. and man does it rasp, every time they let off the gas and the RPMs drop it sounds like someone sighing really loud.

there are like 500000000 different setups, and each companies different componants are going to make it sound different i know. and sound is subjective. some people honest to god LIKE that trademark fart can sound. im looking for a V8 sounding exhaust, no rasp, no drone, with a nice glug glug glug V8 sound at idle with a DEEP throaty sound when reved. password JDMs prototype nismo exhaust was the closest thing ive ever heard but they must be going full retard, its taken them 3 years and still no product and it still sounds KINDA trumpety at the top end of a rev. i have a chevy colorodo work truck with the 3l 5 cylinder and it sounds like a small displacement V8, VERY deep and growely, look up old 3.9l v6 dakotas they are the same way. why the **** cant we make the VQ sound good? i would take an exhaust that SOUNDED good over one that gave me a couple HP any day.

I just bought and had installed the full system. I like the overall sound of the exhaust but feel it is a bit too loud for me. I am running resonated test pipes and was curious to see if anyone had installed just the muffler portion of this on a stock center/ y pipe and how it sounded. I'd like to keep the aggressive snarl but tone it down a tad and not sure if the factory resonators would help.

Thoughts? If not it may be for sale very soon!

Thanks guys

**EDIT**

Since no one had any feedback I went ahead and installed the Nismo front and midpipes and left the Meisterschaft muffler portion. It still sounds snarly but about half the DB as before and doesn't leave my head buzzing after going through the mountains under load. Since I am running test Pipes the full Meisterschaft system was just insane for daily driving.. The next step is to replace the Nismo H pipe with an X pipe to smooth things out.

Just FYI for anyone that may be looking into this kit that would like it more streetable.

richc2jeter 01-09-2014 06:49 PM

Is anyone running just the Axleback and Mid-Pipe sections of this exhaust? I am running Stillen G3s with Berk HFCs and just the GTHaus Axleback. I am wanting to upgrade my Y-Pipe to be less restrictive, but will a stock / OEM Mid-Pipe contradict? Also wondering how much louder the Mid-Pipe would be when added on?

MacLean 01-09-2014 09:36 PM

You will not have any issues at all. The sound is amazing & I love it. If you were to go to the tuning section of this website & click on the Mustang Dyno you can hear how my entire set up sounds.

Thanks for the response, do you happen to know what the diameter size is for the GTHaus piping? I didn't go with the entire GTHaus Catback due to the lack of HP gains... that is why I am looking to get a different Y-Pipe, along with a Mid-Pipe to get the most gains out of my exhaust set-up.

I believe the entire piping size is 2.5 inches (excluding the exhaust tip of course).
