Top speed exhaust question

I just bought the top speed exhaust from a forum member and i'm seeing alot of people talk about the ebay y pipe? People buying the y pipe instead of the pipe that comes with the top speed exhaust. So what im getting @ is, does the ebay y pipe out perform the top speed pipe

the top speed exhaust is after the y-pipe. So to be more productive, you can buy a cheap, but good y-pipe from ebay to go with it, making it a complete "cat-back"

I have the top speed y and the only reason people choose the eBay one over it is because it's cheaper
