It sounds great in the video. Does it sound exactly like that on your car too?

I threw it away, but im 80% sure the mid pipe hanger location is the same location if you measure from the pipe end that connects to the muffler. You would need an extension for the midpipe on the Side that connects to the Y pipe. What exhaust are you going with?
|
Yes, sounds the same on start up and reving.

The last one I contacted was Vivid Racing and they said they would be willing to try, so I'm gonna schedule in probably the next week or two. It's the Zele titanium, so I definitely had no choice on getting the G37 Coupe version, Z guys are so lucky. :( So I'm rolling the dice on this, if it doesn't pan out with Vivid I'm giving up and will put it on sale here. |
Ya, my best guess is that you will only have to get one extension piece per pipe for the connection between the front pipe and midpipe. Everything else has a good chance of fitting correctly with the exception of the tips. The rear bumper on the G37 is about 3" longer than the 370Z. So, the tips will be tucked in. I hope it works for you cuz that's a sick exhaust.

hello everyone, i'm new to this forum.
I'm interested in this setup you have applied to your 370z. I've always liked the stock sound for the G37 but i was quite disjointed when i heard the stock 370z given the same engine. I noticed the sound after g37 muffler swap to 370z sounds alot like the g37 tone i've been seeking for. Could you please give a bit more details as to the sound? (ie, stock start up, drive by's ) A video or a link OTHER than the ones in pg 1-2 would be greatly appreciated. Furthermore, would i need to cut anything if i replace my stock 370z muffler with a stock g37 muffler ? Any feedback / reply is greatly appreciated ! |
I dont have any other videos. Im waiting to get a new resonator installed before i take another video. I just dont know which route to go for yet (motordyne xyz pipe with resonator + oem midpipe with resonator deleted, or aftermarket resonators replacing the oem resonators). The resonators and muffler (and maybe the cats) are more restrictive on the Z. Thats why it is so much quieter on the Z. You dont have to cut anything for the muffler swap (tips stick out about 1.5" but it makes it look more aggressive). It all bolts on. The resonators will need cutting and welding. I dont recommend this exhaust setup unless you are going to modify the resonators or get HFC/test pipes.

hey, thanks for the awesome reply.
If I keep all the stock components from factory and ONLY replace the stock 370z stock muffler with a g37 muffler, would I be able to obtain this stock g37 sound ? G37x Coupe DS Stock Exhaust Note - YouTube or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t48bI3YDel0 |
Nope. You will only get to about 50% of it. Somewhere between the 370 and g37. You need aftermarket or G37 resonators to get the full g37 sound.
|
darn that's a bit of work. I just want the g37 sound on the 370z, too bad nissan had to change such little stuff..... I'm sure it could have been an easy fix straight from the factory.
Hurry and get your resonators and mid pipes sorted out, can't wait for the new videos for your new exhaust sound !!! cheers. |

Actually, yes.. I forgot to post in this thread. I was inspired by the G noise as well and saw this thread a while back. Currently, I have the G37 midpipe resonator installed, but not the muffler. Going to hijack and necro (sorry, mod) this thread. I do plan on getting the muffler installed sometime soon, maybe this weekend. I'll post a video of it soon (g37 resonator + 370z muffler and g37 resonator + g37 muffler). Also, would like to find someone from SoCal with stock exhaust to compare. It does sound somewhat close to this one currently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPp4YwXrtjY Not sure the first car is a Z or a G though.. and the description is a bit confusing. How the g37 resonator + 370z muffler combo sounds is a lot more aggressive.. However, during cold start, there is a fart can-like rattle around 4k-4.5k. |
Any other follow up on this. I'm desperetly searching for the g37 sound.
