Do YOU GUYS HEAR ANY HISS OR RASP? ARK PERFORMANCE INC HFC PROTOTYPE

After 2 weeks with this car.
Taking on and off the HFC's for tests (We owned the demon bolt x8)
Testing various Type 2 and Type 1 setups
Calculating frequency
Calculating exhaust gas temp
Calculating the velocity of the exhaust gas
Measuring the length of our HFC

We have done what no other company accomplished since the VQ first debuted with the G35/350z.

The main task at hand was eliminating the rasp and hiss caused by Testpipes and HFC's.

The video below shows some revs with AEM cold air intake + ARK HFC Prototype + ARK Type 2 v2 Exhaust prototype.

We will release the finalized photos of our HFC when its in full production. This is because we are sure that other manufacturers will eventually copy our design.

Beautifully done ARK!! ppl found a problem, you addressed it and have now solved it.

Now, about the 3" design :)

TeamARK 09-07-2011 07:56 PM

You guys are NEVER satisfied huh? I will have this new project looked into after I see this product through to full production.

:p I just like your exhaust and want a 3" for the turbo.

TeamARK 09-07-2011 08:05 PM

True dual 2.5 is more than enough. If anything a 3" single would be something to look into if you want the most gains out of our Turbo

kayess 09-07-2011 08:31 PM

I'm glad i waited!

daisuke149 09-07-2011 08:49 PM

Nice Guys. that just sounds amazing.

Yutnaka 09-07-2011 10:44 PM

Nice.

I happen to love that hissing sound when the engine is decelerating under load.

+1 :iagree:

I find it Sex-Z...

TeamARK 09-08-2011 12:41 PM

Its really a love it or hate it thing. Its just most of our ARK customers buy our exhaust for the sound that it creates and hate the sound that the HFC/TP creates with our exhaust.

370zjames 09-09-2011 01:57 AM

I'm in love with ARK~!!!! :D

BalanBro 09-09-2011 09:22 AM

Will the results be the same for those of us with the existing type 2 exhaust?

TeamARK 09-09-2011 11:17 AM

Yes if you mate this up with your existing Type 2, Hiss and Rasp would be eliminated.
Please note that with headers, we believe that the Hiss/Rasp might come back. We will need to do some tests with headers to see

Id love to help you with the header part. I have the LTH... granted I do live in HI, but I am still looking for an exhaust that can eliminate or at least greatly diminish the hiss on decel and slight rasp on accel. What are the changes to the exhaust that were made? If I can help out somehow, let me know. Im even willing to provide dyno or sound files too.

Hey Tony, I jut realized that you said ARk Type2 "V2" exhaust "prototype"

If you dont mind me asking, what is the different between the current Type 2 (which is V1) and V2??

I believe the V2 sits higher than the current type 2

BalanBro 09-13-2011 07:58 AM

BTW, what's the cell count?

DarkZide 09-13-2011 08:48 AM

What does a set of your HFC's cost? I can't find them on your website.

We actually went a step further and made 2 different types of cores for the HFC's to gauge the difference in sound and how much more flow is restricted. Final production will be finalized once we have dyno's done with the units.

Its not out yet. Its currently in its developmental stages.

Alex

DarkZide 09-13-2011 01:11 PM

ball park? I mean if they are 500+ $ they won't be worth getting something that offers additional power and good resonance like ART pipes.

Most forum members want the hiss and rasp gone, Im not sure if the ART pipes are capable of doing that.

TeamARK 09-13-2011 05:22 PM

In addition, There is more material going into a HFC as oppose to a testpipe.

DarkZide 09-13-2011 05:37 PM

Just dont price them TOO high...or ill have to buy whoever rips off your design first. :rofl2:

TeamARK 09-13-2011 05:39 PM

Understood. Although it would be hard to replicate.

ZedSled 09-14-2011 12:19 PM

Im definitely interested in these new HFC's once they are released! Not a big fan of the rasp/hiss. I love the deep, throaty sound the exhaust puts out but then the hiss ruins it.:icon14:

Cant wait to get my new set of V2's from Alex once they arrive.

b1adesofcha0s 09-16-2011 08:55 PM

Wow these sound awesome! Can't wait to see the final product, definitely interested! Was thinking about getting the Motordyne ART Pipes, but that video may just have changed my mind ;)

DarkZide 10-01-2011 03:52 PM

any timeframe? Ready to buy soon and i'd prefer to get these unless it will be forever until the release.

NismoZ370 10-16-2011 07:41 PM

Any progress ARK? These are in high demand right now

NismoZ370 10-16-2011 07:55 PM

Also what is the URL for the Real ARK website?
