I just got my ERZ HFC but...problem occured..

Hello guys, I'm so happy that I just got my HFC but due to poor packaging, that piece of metal (red circle on the image) is bent like 40 degree...I

Default I just got my ERZ HFC but...problem occured..



Hello guys, I'm so happy that I just got my HFC but due to poor packaging, that piece of metal (red circle on the image) is bent like 40 degree...I wonder how important that part is...sigh.... when I opened the box, that piece was facing towards the bottom and the box was ripped from it. I hope ERZ doesn't make this mistake again to other buyers... anyway, I hope i will have no problem while installing it...

I have these same cats and the passenger side hanger was wayyyy off from fitting the mount. It was pretty easy to fix with just a hammer If your's needs to bend back the opposite way I would take the torch to it and it will bend very easy.

oh Thanks! and btw how hard is the installation? I heard that I have to remove the stock intake??

Install was a bitch no lie, but it always is the first time the stock cats come off. The header side flanges had bolts with nut side down which is easy and some were nut side up which is hell. If you're gonna go through the engine compartment to remove those demon bolts yes the intakes gotta come out but that really takes a minute each. 1/2' impact wouldn't touch those demon bolts, I had a couple swivels with I think 2 24" extensions on a 24" breaker bar and I slid a 3' jack handle over that as a cheater to get shear the bolts off. I did this with the car on the lift about 3' up with a guy under holding the socket on the nut while I was on a step ladder wringing these things off. I would first try to get these demon bolts from the under side, who knows you might get lucky and they aren't crazy tight. Although I only had 1k miles when I removed mine and it sucked. Be prepared to break a swivel or two using that approach and if it doesn't work then its time to go down through the engine compartment. Putting the new cats on is a breeze less than 15 min for the pair.

damn...just reading your story makes me going crazy already! haha yea I really hope the bolts aren't that b***h!! haha Thanks anyway bro! really appreciated! just hope that bent part gets solved well!

You do NOT have to remove the intakes. You can get around the passenger side intake, however you should loosen the driver's side intake but you do not have to remove it.

This is true but the main reason I removed them was I couldn't see the bolt at all until I did.
