In cabin vibration form CBE
I had the Ark CBE and Berk HFC installed and I am getting a really loud vibration coming from the back of the car, I think it is coming from inside the cabin.
I checked the crossmember, no rubbing and plenty of clearance All the hangers are fine I even had a guy weld the two resonators togather because it looked like they where rubbing. I am at a loss her, anybody got any ideas? I will try and post a video of it in the morning |
Bring it to my shop the night before the cruise... I'll let you know
|
i had a vibration sound in the rear when i had the catback installed. it was a thin metal plate that was touching the muffler. just bent it out a bit and vibrations gone now.
|
first check the exhaust hanger bolts.
then try pushing on the foglight (or dummy light) the metal bracket there likes to rattle around. |
I will try that

You should check the rear muffler hangers. Other than that, we carefully examined every batch on our JIG here before it was shipped out.

If that is the case, then check to see if all the bolts are tightened. If you have any other questions please give us a call directly so we can find out where the vibrations are coming from. 909.391.1275

As mentioned before, check whether the metal shield over the passenger side muffler is contacting the exhaust. I had this similar issue with my FI exhaust as have others and just bent it up out of the way, no problems since.
|
^^^ Yea. Check that as well.

I get a bad vibration from the rear of my car most of the time. Some days it's worse than others. Irt must be part of the body somewhere. Are car body panels seem to be pressed and welded togehter in many spots. It's bound to create vibrations from a loud droning exhaust. But I could care less. Especially when you have an exhaust setup like mine. It's expected. Didn't start till I removed the silencers.

I have not yet, but it does go away when the windows ar rolled down. When I get time I am going to take apart my trunk and see if I can't find it
|
I found the problem!!!!!! IT was the heat shield!! I just removed it and problem solved!!
NO MORE RATTLE NOISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God!!!!!!!! |
I was just going to remove mine tomorrow. Having a thin piece of metal like that is just bound to rattle.
|
I got the same exact situation going on with my berk cbe setup. Around 4K rpm's i get a rattle from the rear, passenger side. Sounds like it's internal, but not a 100% sure about that. I did check the heat shield and it's not the issue. Nothing seems to be even close to rubbing/touching in the under carriage. This noise is an f'n irritant and it's starting to drive me nuts.

I have also bent the metal around the muffler, and check everything else to be check it is a resonation issue i believe. Not sure though. Also i have Berk both HFC and CBE, not sure what to say. |

I feel it's more so the body itself. Being that the seems are pinch welded together. This may case some rattles if the two pieces of the body are not completely seemed perfect.

I had to remove a heat shield right behide the rear quarter panel on the pass side, it was for some evap thing i think. but no more rattle, maybe try that one?

Mine only rattled at certian times, but it was the cause for my rattle...
|
The dealership just replace my exhaust with a new stock one and now I'm getting in-cabin vibration from 3500-4k. Drives me nuts too :-(
|
Rattle was gone for few days and now something else is rattling!! It's not bad as before but it's there!! IT"S DRIVING CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!
|
Mine has the same issue. Definitely coming from inside the car. I think it might be the plastic piece on the inside of the hatch. Hopefully when I put some sound deadener panels in, it will go away!! Makes a nice car sound cheap as f@#$! :shakes head:

Thanks, q |
I have a rattle also but mine is in the trunk and sounds like its driver side. Sounds like thin metal rubbing only when im 3000 - 4000mph and heavy on the gas. Thought it was the car jack rubbing or something but appears its not. Have no choice but to try and dynamat it and see if I can fix it. Drives me nutz!!

I had to try something! I know its not the heat shield because thats off the car. I know its not the license plate because I already took care of that. This kinda of stuff gets under my skin to the point where thats all i think about until i find a solution! Good luck! |
