KamiSpeed 07-27-2011 04:01 PM

no one? am I late? do people already have this?

kenchan 07-27-2011 04:18 PM

naw...

a. HPS tubes are much less $ and made in USA. (although mishimoto is a fake j-name are these made in the USA as well? they're in delaware or something). i use the HPS post MAF tubes and they work great.

b. mishimoto's intake they did for the 370Z did not net results people were looking for.

so i suppose those 2 reasons... maybe they can put out some real numbers these tubes make and match market price.

always the bubble buster aren't you hahaha, nah but I just posted MSRP, I can get it down to about $108 too =P

also, to be reasonable, has anyone tried this one in comparison with the HPS one?

halogodx 07-28-2011 03:38 AM

Is there a dyno avaliable by any chance , baseline vs these ? I find 180 a bit steep if it provides the same gain as the HPS tubes

Even at the same price. I would rather buy the product that gives better gain's. Even if its by 2 rwhp.

wait, you're the vendor... i'd talk to your mishimoto contact to get you the data people will need to make their decision to buy those mishimoto tubes.

Armonster 07-28-2011 04:31 PM

It's a silicon tube that is shaped exactly like the HPS tubes. There won't be any performance differences between the two. Come on, people.

:iagree: If these came out before the hps then the situation would just be reversed, wtf. Or hps tubes have a super inside liner made by nasa that allows the airflow to triple compared to there competitors, lol..:stirthepot:

you never know haha, i don't have all the specs on the inner diameter so there might be a slight difference that edges the HPS over the mishimoto or vise versa

truthfully I'd be more interested in a non biased customer do a review, for the sake of figures and a customer review also works better than company specs when I try selling

**MODS: I hope this will not be considered spam. However, we are here listening to consumer concerns and would like to make everyone happy.

Our 370Z is supercharged and was shipped out to California for events so we don't have access to a 370Z at the moment. Since everyone is wondering about the performance of our air intake hoses vs. HPS, we will offer a FREE set of hoses to anyone in Delaware or Pennsylvania who will come to our shop and let us use their car for dyno testing. We prove the performance of our product, someone gets free hoses. It's a win for everybody. If it takes testing a member's car to prove the integrity of our company and our products, then let's make it happen.

If anyone is local to the Philadelphia/Wilmington area and is interested in participating, please send me an e-mail at julia@mishimoto.com.

Thanks,
Julia Bustard

Well personally, I think they just look better than stock.

XwChriswX 07-29-2011 02:41 PM

I have the COBB tubes myself, which were the predecessors to the HPS Tubes and everyone says the same things about them. When it comes to 3 of the same thing, it's about who markets the best and who is out first... they set the bar.

Good luck to Mishimoto. I don't see why their product would be of any lesser quality than the HPS tubes, they do great work with radiator hoses (which I need to get myself a set of... ahem Kami :rofl2: ) So looking forward to independent dyno results. Someone jump on a free set for a free dyno too!

Also Mishimoto, to make sure you guys don't get in trouble by some people, send a PM to AK370Z or admin to get yourselves setup with a Vendor account so you can get more visibility with your own section.

:rofl2: Red huh... :icon08: hmmmmm...

Z1 has their practically whole interior engine bay kits of hoses in red/black/blue... I wanna re-do all of mine, not sure if they did a radiator one or not? What brand are you carrying?

Oh no, wasn't implying that you were. Just that if you'd like to at some point, that's how you could set yourself up for that.

Would be nice to have a direct rep on here from your company as I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in your product once it gets some more publicity.

mishimoto haha, i thought thats what you were looking for... its only the radiator hoses not the entire engine bay though -_-

XwChriswX 07-29-2011 03:58 PM

Along with the hoses, I was thinking of getting some of that wire wrap you can get at autozone and such, the red one, to wrap all the electical wiring to make the bay a nice clean red/black. Or do you think that would be a bit overboard with swapping the rubber hose tubings to red silicone as well?

personally? I don't like too much color in an engine. The radiator hoses are fine to me, but once it goes to all the cables and hoses I start thinking and seeing ricer hahaha. But like I said, that's my personal taste. If you wanna go all out its up to you haha.

Wait, someone dynoed te HPS tubes? I must have missed that. I did a search and couldn't find the post. Can anyone link it here. I'm interested to see what gains are made with just tubes.

Also I'm surprised no one has jumped on a chance for a free mod and dyno. I'd do it but I'm west coast like so many others have also posted. :(

the HPS have been dynoed with k&N air filters or something like that, just look it up in the search, it should come up

and bump for free set for test fitment

JTTZR 09-01-2011 04:50 PM

Yes, they have been dynoed. And they do add power - not quite as much as the gen 3's - from recollection - but then the hot air debate usually kicks in ;-)

I've got the HPS tubes with K&N drop ins and I love the combo - the car feels more responsive and has that little bit of added enjoyment with it.

yea the reasoning people give me is that the upgraded tubes and filters provide the best bang for the buck, while the gen 3 provide the most power

KamiSpeed 10-14-2011 03:50 PM

company bump for a great company, if you need any other mishimoto parts I'm your guy :)

whoLEEoh 10-15-2011 02:27 PM

just wondering..what do they make for the 370? other than those hoses..and any update on if someone dyno'd them?

Methodical4u 10-15-2011 04:29 PM

Mishimoto... I am in Md.... about 45 min from Camden, De. I have Motordyne ART pipes and F.I. CBE with no intakes and stock filters. PM me if you all are interested. I can dyno a set one day.

try PMing them directly, IDK if they'll see this, I don't think they check the forums often
