Kinetix 370Z Intake Plenum! Should i Buy it ?

1 Attachment(s)
oK guys. Looks like Kinetix has come out with a prototype for sale over at Z1 Motorsports.
Take a look. below

Should i get this ?

Kinetix Racing has recently developed a new aftermarket intake plenum for the 370Z. This is a prototype plenum and is not being sold as a performance product. However, we have seen gains on forced induction applications.

Zedx 07-02-2011 02:57 AM

mmmmmmmmmmmmm

V8Killer 07-02-2011 03:03 AM

Looks fancy LOL I will be watching for this thread for updates. I would like to see if anybody buys it and gets us some numbers on the board.

V8Killer 07-02-2011 03:07 AM

Whoa 750 bucks for possible hp gains on F/I? No reports of N/A? What kind of crap is that?

Zedx 07-02-2011 03:30 AM

yeah. not much info. but seeing how i am stuck at 309HP on the mustang dyno. I really want a intake manifold. Just need more info. the motordyne one doesnt seem to do anything time and time again. or maybe our intake manifold truly is perfect? nah....

Hmm 309 only? I plan to pass those numbers in a couple months with F.I. CBE,LTH, Stillen UD pulley, G3 intake. You can try the intake manifold be my guest and if it works out then I'll jump on the band wagon:happydance: I hope you reach your goal. What are you trapping at the track?

SPOHN 07-02-2011 07:44 AM

NO you should not get. All it is is a polished terd. No better than the one they made from the 350Z days. I had one on my 350 and it was on a FI application and netted me no numbers. I removed it a month later and bought a Crawford plenum and gained numbers. Proof is right below. Mainfolds/plenums just dont benefit much at all if any on are type of motor (37 VHR). Buy you some long tube headers instead.

Crawford Plenum? Do you mind directing me to that location? I ordered some F.I. LTH already, in your opinion you think I should throw that extra buck for what you got?

Mike 07-02-2011 08:13 AM

Crawford plenum was for the 350z, Doug doesn't make anything for the 370z

K cool thanks for the heads up Mike.;)

Zedx 07-02-2011 01:45 PM

Yeah i hear you on the long tube headers. BUT the goal is to keep the car street legal. So i run High Flow Cats. Not to sure if shorty stillen headers will gain anything. mmmm. Yeah. thinking probably not goint to go with this. Been looking at our stock manifold and its damn near perfect. Hope a good one does come out at some point though. Come on Cosworth!!!

Glokwork 07-02-2011 02:11 PM

I've been debating on swapping intake manifolds, but I know very little about them on the z. I've done some searching on here, but is the Motordyne pretty much the only option for us as of now?

SPOHN 07-02-2011 03:13 PM

I would just stay away from any manifold. Not knocking anyone. Just there is more benefit to be had with a single or combination of intake, TP/ HFC, exhaust and tune.

Zedx 07-10-2011 10:16 PM

Seems like still no info on this one

Jamaica 07-10-2011 10:27 PM

GTR manifold will be out soon for the z

In a N.A version or Turbo version? or will work on both? any idea? and how soon is "out soon"

Econ 07-11-2011 03:30 PM

Hi Zedx,

Have you seen the dyno plots posted at the beginning of this thread?
http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...-manifold.html

Basically every independent dyno plot that has been posted in this forum has been copy/pasted into the first post of this thread. It contains the pre/post plots of 11 different vehicles. One plot shows a loss of power in the last 500 RPM of the power curve but also shows much more significant gains in the rest of the power curve. The other 10 plots show a broad band gain in power and torque gains in the upper midrange and approximately break even at the top end. +/- 3-4 HP tolerance range.

If it were possible to create an average of all the 11 independent dyno plots, it would show the M370 is making clear gains over the entire RPM spectrum with ~the same peak power.

Econ 07-12-2011 10:52 AM

motordyne, i think you should sponsor my car.

thanks.

I have a dyno and a 370Z.

Send me parts to test and I'll show everything!

Any chance for new design upgrades? Seems like my goal of mid range and upper range gains cant be achieved with the motordyne. Dont think im willing to sacrifice the top end for the small mid range gain.

Is there a new version coming out?

There are no changes planned.
Are you targeting 310 HP? ART pipes will do that for you very easily.

Also, is your Amuse exhaust a Y-back?

310 is just the annoying hump for my car to get over the real goal is is high as it will go with the CNT high flows. Don't want pipes. Amuse is a Y back. 2.85inch. I love the setup.

For now the goal is shorty headers and a intake manifold then a re-tune. So far the Stillen seems to get the job done on the shorty headers. Still looking for that special intake manifold though.

Install ART pipes along with the Motordyne XYZ pipe with HFC and you will surpass the goal with a catalytic converter in the system.

Econ 07-15-2011 02:47 PM

i want 375whp N.A.

how do i do this

Motordyne 07-15-2011 02:49 PM

I can Vouch for Tony at Motordyne, My friend bought the ART PIPES, MOTORDYNE EXHAUST, STILLEN HEADERS, MOTORDYNE PLENUM STILLEN,GEN 3 INTAKES, with Osiris Uprev Tune on the Dyna pac and got 358whp and 295wlbs of torque No B.S. since a lot of trolls here want to call B.S. on almost everything i'll show pics later..

370ZilverZ 03-13-2012 12:40 PM

It sure looks good, but at $1200 for zero gains? Just depends on if you like bling more than some gains out of your buck.

Also provide a stock dyno, saying a car has X horsepower is one thing but knowing where it started is the real factor. If I started at 340whp and then went to 358whp then it looks good on paper but really I did not see much of a gain.

RSZED 03-24-2012 03:26 PM

He has dyno sheet per mod to show were the hp came from as to later on adding the tune as well, Other exhaust n test pipes suck *** compared to motordyne. GTM has good pipes n exhaust but have waay to much hissing n not enough power.

Ok....so where are they?

RSZED 04-20-2012 02:36 PM

I don't know if you know how to read but i said my friend.... Not me.. he is a really hard to get a hold of Guy he is a Navy guy, though, i asked to borrow his sheets he will do so soonest he gets back, some people can't believe 360whp all i have to say learn to mod your cars and pic the right mods, not just any mods. Motordyne has the best set up thus Far just go ask Sean at Church Automitve in Wilmington Cali.:twocents:

370Z JT 04-20-2012 04:20 PM

You do know 358 on Shawn's dynopack is like 320 on a dynojet right. I put down 347 on Shawn's dyno and 310 on a dynojet.

NYBladeZ 04-20-2012 04:21 PM

To have any real credibility we need stock dyno sheets. I will venture a guess and say dynojet.

That would make sense, hub dynos are a waste of time unless used strictly for tuning purposes.
