So what is the purpose of the resonator? Does it actually tone down the sound so that it doesn't sound like a ricer? And is there anywhere else I can order it other than Fast Intentions

the 12" and 18" resonators are for toning down the sound, no rasp involved...i think it sounds exotic myself but i am biased since i own the cbe.

my cbe is non resonated so i have the loudest setup. i have stock cats, but that will change soon to hfc's.

not sure if other exhaust makers have resonators or not. sry i cant be of much help there...

heres a few places to help you get an idea:

CF is lighter than the SS. It's not just for looks.

yeah but it's like 6 lbs less... I mean drink a gallon of water a day for a week and you'll lose that much and it won't cost you 250.00 or so dollars.

I myself really like the sound clips of the FI exhaust, and Tony is attempting to help me with what I want for something quite inside and cruising around, but not restricted to the point that the power output isn't hindered to much.
