Default Injen CAI Question

Hi Guys I have a question. I installed a CAI more than a year ago with no problems at all. I take my car to the car wash and also never really driven it in the rain. This morning I washed my car by myself. After drying it I took it for a spin and noticed that the engine is stalling like having a hiccups. I tried to rev it and push it a little bit more and the hiccups continued. I then turn around and went home. I check the engine since I wiped the dusts from the engine and can't fined anything disconnected. I tried to push some wires and restarted the car and the stalling/hiccups was gone. I was concerned so I drove it more a few blocks and pushing it with no hesitation this time. I am asking anyone's opinion as to what exactly happened? Do you think the air filters got wet? are they that sensitive cause I hosed the car but not to much. If the filter was wet do you think the engine got messed up because they say it can mess up the engine when the CAI filters get wet. Need opinions. Thanks

I think you're prob ok. The Mass air sensor might have just detected a small amount of water and messed with your ratios. You can hydrolock especially with the injens if you fully submerge the filters in a puddle though.

You MAY have gotten some water in a connector, or like was posted before the MAS could have detected some water. Ive heard on rare occasion when its super super super humid out of some cars acting the same way.

If you're ever concerned about sucking up water you should throw a Outerware Filter on it to alleviate some concern.

Most modern CAI are designed so that sucking up water and hydro-locking the engine is no longer an issue. I can remember when CIA intakes started hitting the market it was just the longest tube they could fit under the hood that got the filter as close to the ground as possible. On rainy days Id have to ask my mom if I could borrow her car. There has been so much more R&D since then.

If you do decide to get a pre filter PM me and Ill get you a quote.
