Default K&N Typhoon Intake & other mods

Hey guys,

Looking to buy a few things for my Z roadster touring sport (black). Was thinking the first mod to buy the K&N Typhoon intakes... Is it worth it for 300? Does it sound better without changing the exhaust? Will it affect my Nissan warranty? I have read there are some gains...

Im a newbie so sorry for some of the rookie questions, just want to get some feedback! THANKS!

What other mods do you guys consider to begin with?

I have the typhoons and I like them, I'd say well worth the 300 bucks. It's gonna change the tone of your engine but don't expect the exhaust to be any louder. It won't affect your nissan warranty either, no worries. Also, if your looking to increase your exhaust note but don't want something super loud look into the invidia gemini exhaust.

i have k&n intakes also, however, some members on this fourm got the same gains from just K&n drop in filters. you might want to do a bit of research. intakes are expensive comparing to drop in filters..

I literally just installed these yesterday. I had HPS tubes and HKS drop in filters. The installation was really easy and the instructions are really good (although not really needed). At wide open throttle, the engine is definitely a lot louder. I think whoever posted here saying that it is barely louder than stock is deaf or something. I think it is well worth the price. Throttle response is increased as well (which I was looking for).

By the way, there is a thread about having some issues with the tubes K&N provided that connects to the engine but I had no problems at all. As for next modification, I will be installing hi flow cats.

I have just installed the K&N Typhoon intakes but before I had them installed, I had them painted red to match the car plus while I was at it had the strut painted red as well. Can't claim that idea I saw that idea on the forum
I also had Magnaflow exhaust installed
boy they sound really nice

I ordered a set after finding a good deal. I've been very happy with them. The WOT sound is great. I didn't run into any install problems either
